That's where the cutup bananas, and raspberries work in. They sure do well in my Rice Krispies! Image

In about three weeks, the Bassman 115 Neo is going to be changed out for a 410 Neo. The photo, and the avatar shows a 500 / 410 Neo, from a couple of years ago.

Well, someone has been at the Sam Ash again. :P So, what made you decide on swapping out the 15" for the 4 x 10" configuration? You just got tired of it, and wanted to change things up?

A slight change possibly on the horizon as to a 410 cab. I'm in all probability going to go with the Ampeg SVT-410HLF. It costs the same as the 410 Neo, and it's a 4 ohm cab. It's a 500 watts rms, and peaks at 1,000 watts. With the Bassman 800 @ 4 ohms, I can get the full 800 watts, and be 200 watts below the cab's 1,000 peak. Once I would get it home it wouldn't be moved around. I did try my 4003 through one, and it sounded good. I know if the Ric did ok through the SVT-410, the GL will will crush the walls here @ 800 watts pushing the air.

It all comes down to the Ampeg can give me the 800 watts from the Bassman 800, and sound as good as the 410 Neo.

That should work out well, I think. I have selective impedance with my amp, so it doesn't matter too much what the ohms on the cab is, unless I want to run two cabs. My cab is 500 watts continuous, and 1000 watts program, but it's not like I've even dimed the thing to the point that I have to worry about pushing it too hard.

Our two cabs are a like on their wattages. I like the Ampeg being pretty matchable to the Bassman 800, and not going to the limit at 1,000 watts. The selective switch is a good feature to have.

I think my cabs pretty much the "budget" version of the Bassman Neo one, which probably just has deluxe features like those speakers. I'm guessing they are all Eminence to begin with. I imagine if I swapped out the speakers for those Neo ones, it would probably sound pretty identical. I like what I have in there as it is, anyway. It's a good cab. Ampegs are good cabs, too. I've never owned one, but I have used them. To tell you the truth, if I had the space, and didn't mind, or fully capable of humping a 165 pound behemoth up and down stairs (the 4 x 10" cab pushes that far enough,) I'd rock one of those Ampeg 8 x 10" cabs (also, being able to afford one is a factor.) You could do some serious damage with that thing, especially with the amps we have.

The 115 Neo is now property of GC. The deal for the Ampeg SVT-410HLF went extremely well. Right off the top, 15% was taken off for the 4th of July specials running. I did ok for the 115 Neo as a trade in. I was finally able to be where I needed to be to get a great deal on some thing, when I was going to get something.

It's here! They had one that had just come in, and was just being uncrated to go on the floor just as I called to see if they had any in the store's stock. The deal was completed, I rolled it out to my car, and drove it home, just before 12: noon. Image

Cool deal! 8) You got that pretty quickly, then. I thought you'd might have to wait for it a bit.

SA was showing about 3-4 weeks before they would have any in stock. I was lucky enough to find that GC had received some in, and some of the local stores actually had them in stock. Like I mentioned before, they were just taking it out of the carton when i called them this morning. It really did work out better in this case with GC, than it would've going through SA.
