I ordered a Bassman 115 Neo cab online. I'm guessing it should be in town Tuesday. Saturday I played the Am. Pro. Jazz through a V-4B / SVT-212AV, and a V-4B / Bassman 115 Neo. As much as I like 212 cabs, the 115 Neo cleaned the SVT-212AV's clock big time.

That's interesting. So you're swapping out the 2 x 12" for a 15" cab then?

Yes. The sound is that good with the my Jazz and that 115 Neo. I know if the Am. Pro. Jazz does well with it, the other two will do well through it also.

Did you also try an Ampeg 15" cab, or you just happen to see that Fender one around and decided to try it out for the hell of it?

A little of both. I tried both, and liked the Eminence 115 Neo, over the standard Eminence 115 in the Ampeg. NEO speakers have a bit of an edgier tone.

I remember one time you had a Fender head going through an Ampeg cab. A little switcheroo there. :P Interesting they both use Eminence speakers, too. I don't recall if I've ever used Neos, or not. I'm pretty sure the Fender Rumble cab doesn't have them, or it would probably have cost more. I have to say, Fender does make a decent bass cab, but also those Eminence speakers are pretty decent, too. 8)

Very true about Fender cabs. On working on a deal for a Super Bassman. They sound great with the extra power through a 115 NEO cab.

You know something spooky, I had a feeling that you might have been looking into the Super Bassman again, after seeing you post that Neo cab. Maybe it has to do with the fact the last time you had that cab, you had that amp. You getting tired of the Ampeg setup?

Not tired of it. I just want to get more power. I going to get the Super Bassman. 300 watts, is a lot out of that head.

Oh, so you're going to get the Bassman 800, then? I remember you used to have the 500 model, but you had problems with that one, twice. This is a different model, though. Hopefully, you should be OK with that one. Pretty powerful amp, anyway. 8)

I'm going with a Super Bassman after all.

I'm just waiting for a Super Bassman to get back into stock at SA.

Unless you're committed to Sam Ash, AMS has those in stock, plus they offer a 12 payment plan for $83.34 a month to pay it off, if you don't want to front the cash at once to get it. https://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i ... 49700-LIST

The Ampeg is going toward the Super Bassman. I need the trade in, I'm not going to keep two heads.

I'm breaking in the the NEO 115 nice, and easy. Today I played it for almost an hour. In a way, I really don't need that much volume, the tone for me is more important.
