Yep. Doesn't that sound so simple? Sounds good, and works. Like I said before, I, like the old style Bassman head configuration. I know it doesn't have to be as large as a tube head, but it's an old school look I grew up with. No problems here. Image

I like the look of it, as well. It does have that 60's style to it, even though it's inner workings are totally modern.

I think it's pretty cool too! There's like nothing in there as compared to a tube configuration.

I almost forgot to tell you about the settings with Ric I did today. I cut back a bit on the Overdrive Channel, and readjusted it to the Ric. That's the bass tone on the Ric I was wanting to get through the Bassman 800. The Vintage was bit more trebly. So without going crazy, I flipped the channel switch to Overdrive, and proceeded to find the heavy 60's bass sounds. "Let the sounds take you away",............. Image

Sounds pretty cool. 8) I'll bet you can get some gnarly sounds with that Ric like that.

Yeah,......... as much as I'm not into the treble end, it can do massive treble, and mids! Like I said, the Overdrive Channel is Low Bass tone city!!!

Too bad you don't have an extra amp, so you could hook up the Ric-O-Sound stereo thing, and see how that sounds. Have you ever been able to do that? I don't think I ever did, any time I've ever played on a Ric.

No, I never have. In fact, I don't recall anyone using the Ric-O-Sound.

It's funny, because I was looking into that, I got into watching some videos involving Chris Squire, and his gear (of course, his Ric, and the fact he did utilize the stereo output with the two amps, with one of them being an old Marshall from back in the day,) and then I was watching some Yes concert footage from the early 70's. I call that going down the YouTube rabbit hole. :P

Technically, I could utilize myself, if I had a Ric, since I do have more than one amp, and even have a guitar amp. You know, all of this Ric talk has renewed my GAS for a Ric. :P I guess that will be regulated to maybe someday category, though. They don't make cheapo budget versions of them, like Squiers. Then again, I suppose that isn't a bad thing, since it does make that instrument more special.

Once in a while, the used market can bring one up.

That's true. Some more rare and expensive that others. You ever hear about a Ric 4002 model? There was such a beast between the 4001 and 4003 models. I found out about that looking at some vintage Ric site. http://www.rickbeat.com They have some cool info and pics on that site.

Apparently, it wasn't around too long. This is what they said on that site (with a pic): Image Model 4002

The model 4002 was introduced in 1977. The features of this instrument was very exclusive. Body made of Byrdseye and Curly Maple finished in Mapleglo or Walnut. Deluxe block binding. Laminated custom pickguard. Laminated fully bound Maple neck and head. Imported Ebony fingerboard with pearl style inlays. 21 frets on a 33 1/2 inch scale. Two super high gain humbucking pickups. Individual tone and volume controls for each pickup. Separate Rick-O-Sound stereo and mono output jack. Special low impedance output jack for direct connection with recording studio control board.

Contrary to what many people think this bass was never intended as a limited edition, nor did the company ever describe it as such at any time. In fact, the concept of limited edition didn't even exist then. It came into the line and then was discontinued, as have been any number of models and options throughout the years.
