Do you think the Marshall and the Ampeg had similar issues? I mean just overheating and shutting down, or was there something else involved? I'm wondering about that if there is some sort of faulty component, or cooling system. Although, I thought the Class D stuff isn't supposed to get so hot, but I could be wrong. The Marshall stuff came out before the Ampeg, didn't it? Was that Class D, I don't remember?

I don't recall which was out first. But the Marshall MB450 was the head either on it's own as a head, or the same MB450H, head mounted in the big MB combos. The MB410 combo was the one that actually was on fire. That was a bit how should I say, disturbing. There was an overheating issue with a MB450H. It didn't catch fire, but it was way to damn hot.

Wow, actually catch on fire? I've had a transformer burn out on an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro that I had, but it just smoked a little bit and smelled bad, but I don't recall ever seeing any flames shooting out. I did have an oven catch on fire once, though. That was a mess. Ruined a nice pork roast, too. :P

It had a small flame going. That one closed the book on the Marshall bass amps for me.

Yeah, I'd think that would put me off, too.

I spent just over an hour with the 4003 through the Hartke. I gotsz it! The Ric actually sounded as good as the GL Jazz. I'm super impressed with the deep tones from both Hartke pieces. The TX600 sound great through the HyDrive cab.

I think it's kinda' ironic how well it is working out, with the Hartke being a lesser priced amp, but performing as well or better than some of the higher priced gear I had. The Hartke appears to be living up to it's Quality Control. The HyDrive 210's really are great with the right head to drive them. The EQ on the TX600 is a good one, at least fo my in-house it's pretty damn loud.

You know, sometimes you don't have to spend a ton of cash to get something really something nice that works. I'm sure it also helps that you have two quality basses to run through it. 8)

The basses don't hurt. But the Hartke I think is just a decent setup. And it's true that electronic parts are so less expensive today, as compared even too a few years ago.

Yeah, but I wonder with all of this tariff stuff going on with China and the rest of the world and the US, if that's going to effect the prices in a big way, or maybe nothing will happen at all, which is typical for political things.

It could be just a lot of political saber rattling. Outcomes can be hard to tell.

I kinda' look at it like, oh well, I have what I have now. The 210 is up on two step stool tool boxes, That elevates them about 13" above the floor. A good solid base for that. The top of the 210 cab is 28" high from the floor, so it's not having any sound issues from the carpet in the room.

That should be a good set up. I'm not too worried about the amp situation, as far as my cab is concerned. As for my amp, it's OK, it works, and I'm not 100% thrilled about it, but then again, it could just be a compatibility issue with the violin bass. I've yet to run the Ibanez through it, so I don't now how that's going to pan out. I'm sure it will be fine, basing it on how my Fender sounds. You know, if there's some way I can get a deal and change it out, I probably will.
