I know what you mean. I had a lot of trouble with that 18" cab, with the small rooms I used it in for practice. I do like that idea of the aluminum cones, mixed with the paper ones. From what I've heard on videos, they sound pretty decent.

I like the way they sound with the Hartke TX600 head as well. Yep, the HyDrive speakers are dynamic in sounds to say the least. I like them in the 210 cab.

That would be a nice addition to what I have, or even the regular aluminum cone cab they have, which I had an idea of wanting to do at one time. But of course, either one I'd need the extra $$$.

I was lucky enough too have the Ampeg to use as a trade in. I lost a bit on it, but not that much. The 210 is a good cab. I can foresee it working well for my house playing. As nice as tg\he Ampeg was, it was definitely overkill for a small room.

Yeah, I can see why it would be. I'm sure it can crank if you need it to, though. 450 watts isn't exactly a slouch.

I know at times I get all hung up heavy watts. Like we talked about a few times in the past, 100 watts was considered to be pretty up there for a bass amp back in the 60's, and early 70's. I like the 450 watts being so close to what is somewhat getting to be a standard of 500 watts in bass amps. The 450 watts is a decent wattage that does well with HD210 cab. 350 - 500 watts seems to be a good playing range for a 210 combo, or cab. Your Rumble 350 is a good 210 combo. It's probably a good thing you hung on to that one.

Well, I had no reason to sell it, and I doubt I'd get much if I could. It sort of became "obsolete" after the new generation came out, even though I've read there have been a lot more issues concerning the 3rd generation of Rumbles, compared to the 2nd generation, or the one I have. Really, the main "negative" that it would have, is that it weighs a lot more, because of the MDF construction, but then again, the denser material does help produce a lot of low end, I think.

You may have done yourself a favor by keeping it for any reason at that time. If it's sounding good, you have it, and with out issues the newer Rumbles my have.

It is a good amp, and did serve me well until I got the Orange, and I still use it. Actually, more so than the Orange, because I haven't gigged since last March.

Since it does have a bit of weight to it, but it puts out good tunes, it's the perfect studio amp. That was what I liked about the MB Marshall Series Combos I was using for a while. One setup that worked well was a MB210 combo with a MB115 cab. It was a mini stack. The MB210 was good by itself. Another one was the MB410 combo. But it was 105 pounds if I remember correctly. Both of those sounded great until the MB450 heads in them overheated.

Ancient history now. I'm into the Hartke half stack now. The TX600 just takes a bit of tinkering to get into the lower bass tones. After that it's a pounding amp.

That's a shame that it did that. I remember looking at those amps, and thought they looked pretty cool, but of course, they also need to sound and work good, as well. They used to have some bass amps that came out maybe in the 90's at the latest, or probably the 80's, most likely, that I heard were very good amps. I forget the name of them, but I had seen a few here and there on the used market. Now, they don't make any bass amps, just the guitar stuff. But like you said, ancient history, and you have the Hartke rig now.

They weighed in heavy because of the MDF construction.

Yeah, that stuff is certainly a lot denser.

It wouldn't be bad to use water didn't make it mushy, and screws can strip way to easy in a screw hole.

Yeah, those are the negatives to that stuff.

Ironic, but I did like the Marshall MB210 Combo more than any of the MB Series Marshalls I had.
