You think you'll like the Ampeg better then?

That's true. A low E is around 40Hz, I think.

It's done. GC had brand new one just out of the carton. Plus they have a special going on, so the price off of the regular price was 15% off. They did me ok on the 115 Neo for the trade in. One Ampeg SVT-410HLF with a Bassman 800 on top. Image

Sounds good. I think that should be a nice combination for amplification. 8)

I'd have to agree with ya'. I still like being able to get the full wattage of the head, into one cab, in place of two. Just me though. Not a bad half stack.
I just had to take down two baby gates in two doorways, to get this flipping giant into the room I needed it to go in. We use the corral system in the house, to keep the dogs out of certain rooms. Or if we need to, temporally keep them in one room.

That's actually a good idea, unless you have a cat, then they're like whatever, find a way past such barriers, and wind up sleeping, or sitting on top of your amp, because they like to do that for some reason. 8) In fact, there's a page on Facebook dedicated to that, called "Cats On Amps."

How much does that cab weigh, you think? Mine isn't too bad, especially getting it in and out of the door, up stairs, and all of that. Come to think of it, I've never brought it upstairs to the attic level, where I used to have the rehearsal room, or tried to navigate up that narrow staircase and tight corners. It's been on the 1st floor since I've had it, sans using it for Boston rehearsals, or the gig. I just have it stashed in a tiny side room for now.

The rehearsal room has been changed over to a wardrobe room, because we (mostly, my girlfriend) have acquired a serious amount of clothes, and needed a place to store them. A lot of stage outfits, and things like that. She has stuff in there she hasn't even worn yet and bought it over the winter. Then again, I got a few things that I got for gigs, or special events, or going to concerts, etc. That I've yet to wear, but I will. That's the one thing that I wound up liking to do, that I used to hate before I lost weight, actually do clothes shopping, because I can fit into stuff, and not have to depend on the big and tall section at a Walmart. That was friggin' depressing.

The SVT-410HLF is a trim, demur, 85 pounds. It does have the rear mounted 3" rollers, a top mounted pull bar and Ampeg Eminence 10's. The SVT-410HLF I have is the Classic series. The SVT-410HLF Heritage series is 75 pounds, has USA Eminence 10's, American made, a different speaker grill, and costs a hundred dollars more.
I have no problem going with the Classic, over the Heritage cab.

Wow, that's a pretty hefty cab, then! If I had that, I'd have to add weight lifting to my work out regime, so I could haul the friggin' thing to gigs and rehearsals. :P That's good that it has the tug bar, at least. I'll bet it puts out some serious low end, though.

Paul, with this putting out the true 800 watts that it does, I have never had an amp setup that has me so impressed as this one does. The only way I can describe this amp is, to me it sounds like an Acoustic 360/361 with 410's instead of a single 18. It's a for real arena amp.

I'll bet. I have to say, if their 4 x 10" cab can do that, I can imagine what the 8 x 10" must really be like. No wonder you often see them on stages all over the place.

Yeah,......... give the Devil his due. The Ampeg refrigerator is what it is, and I guess always has been. I was always impressed by them since I saw the first ones in 1969.

They certainly are monster cabs. Orange makes one, too. I wonder if it would be sonically like the Ampeg? I suppose it doesn't matter, since it's highly unlikely I'll get either one, unless I wind up in a situation where I can store it, and need to use one. Plus, the money to spend on either, since they're usually around a $1000. Although, you can get them a lot cheaper used. It's certainly a huge friggin' cab, no matter how much it costs.

If I recall the shape of the Acoustic 361 cab, the SVT-410HLF is similar in design. The air does push out of that cab with the three round sound ports below the speakers. The sound ports are about 3-4 inches in diameter.

I did notice that design with the Ampeg. The Fender doesn't have that, as far as I know. I never took the grill off of it, though. It looks like you can push some air with that cab. 8)
