Then there's the debate on which is better, The Beatles in stereo versus mono recordings. I suppose any new technology is going to be more expensive at first.

Either type of recordings of The Beatles to me sounded great. A lot of people back in the early, to mid 60's didn't have the most expensive music equipment, turntables etc. Some just had a radio to listen to music with.

Music was getting to become a major market item with the coming of the Beach Boys, and God Save Us All, THE BEATLES!!! The British Invasion, all of a sudden a lot of non music lovers, would be avid music lovers! A lot of people were Turned On by the sounds. Myself included!

Yeah, talk about them being at the right place at the right time, and it really effected things globally.

Yes they were. I always thought I was in my right time as well. It was a overall magic time.

I think you would've liked coming up at that time. Oh well, ancient history now. Image

Yeah, it's hard to believe it was 50 and 50+ years ago, but then again, sometimes I try to wrap my head around pushing 50. In a lot of ways, I still feel like I'm in my 20's, but hopefully a little wiser. Although, that's often been debatable with some of the stupid things I've done in life that I wish I could do over.

The 800 is playing as well, or better than I expected it too with the 115 Neo. A good combination . The Eminence 15" is a fine choice for this cab. Fender did a super job on this mix.

Well, you're still walking upright and not in the ground, that has to count for something, considering some of the things that you said you've been through.

That's cool that the amp is working out for you. 8) It does look like a nice combo, for sure. Hell, if I could swap the Orange out for one of those, I'd do it, specifically for the sound options. I imagine it would play really well with the violin bass, too. Especially, since I do get a good sound with the Rumble with that bass. I already have a Fender 4 x 10" cab, so at least it would also match up with that, too.

Very true. There were times when I pushed myself pretty hard. The hospital things were no treat either. The last adventure I had is still coming, and going.

The one reason I like the 800 over the 500, is like I said a few times, the 500 watts @ 8 ohms. Your 4X10 would really crank with the 500 watts, and the two channels for sound settings. I'm honestly surprised that I prefer the Overdrive Channel, over the Vintage Channel. But I guess with the pups, and the Nylons on both basses, it works out ok for me. I know it can be said that there's only 150 watts between the 800, and 500 @ 8 ohms, but the extra power gives a bit more push. Even though I probably will never do another 4 ohm cab to kick it up to 800 watts, I just like having the extra power if wanted.

Yeah, I remember that one. You got messed up pretty good, from what you've told me.

It's always good to have some sort of backup, which is what that sort of is, as far as power is concerned. If anything, it gives you extra headroom. My Fender cab is 500 watts continuous, and 1000 watts program into 8 ohms, so that would be a perfect match for it. The only way that could happen is if somehow I could get enough money for the Orange, and get a good enough deal on an 800, like if AMS had a scratch and dent deal, or something like that. That doesn't seem likely, though.

They do finally have an Ampeg SVT 7 Pro discounted as an open box for $719.95 right now. It's been a long time since they've had any of those like that, but I've had trouble trying to sell that Orange in the past, and I need it for an upcoming gig, so I can't risk putting it on consignment in that shop in Massachusetts, like the other gear I got rid of. I'm probably stuck with the amp for now. I shouldn't really say "stuck with," since it is actually a decent amplifier, sans the lack of some EQ options, but that could also be just the way my bass is, and I've even yet to try it out with the Ibanez, which is a totally different configuration, than the violin bass.
