I have mixed feelings about that. Some days, I think if I had the money, I'd have all kinds of crap, but then I think of the fact I have stuff now that I don't even use, but then again, the reason I don't is because it needs repairs, which in itself is frustrating.

I think if I had the cash, I would maybe get a couple variables to what I have now. But not a lot. I really do have I need now. It's a pain when there's gear that needs some repair. Electrical issues can just that too.

I agree. If money was no object, I'd probably have a few classic pieces (Precision, Jazz, Rickenbacker, Hofner, etc) for bass, and some guitars, as well. Maybe I'd have a few custom jobs thrown in the mix for something different, too. I'd try to make each one have some individual purpose to them for their sounds, as well.

A pretty good list there. I don't know what I'd put on a list.

I'd love to get some vintage models for the mojo. I suppose it would depend if it's worth it, or not, with whatever instrument you're looking at.

I guess I'd be a bit more toward an amp or two. I can get lost in a shop that has some amps in it. I pay more attention to amps than I do basses, just the way I've always been.

I know what you mean. There is something that can be also said about different electronics designs and operations. Yeah, I could do an amp collection as much as an instrument one.

I know I said before, I love the looks of power amps. Amps are it.
I thought about going with an Ampeg tube head to go with the SVT-212AV. But, they don't have the Auto Adjust Tube Bias that Fender has on their tube heads. And like you said earlier, tubes can need attention, and that's an expense I can do without.

I'm surprised that Ampeg doesn't have that, unless it's some sort of patented technology. Speaking of Ampeg, I read yesterday that some corporation bought them out. http://bassmusicianmagazine.com/2017/10 ... ogies-inc/

I wonder if that's going to change anything or not?

So far on the surface, it looks good.

Yeah, I guess time will tell on that one.

It looks as though they may not want to screw around with Ampeg much. Maybe clean it up a bit. Not like Fender did with SUNN!

Well, they did kind of drop the ball a few times with quality control, especially when the new Class D amps came out on the market, so (hopefully) they've learned not to make the same mistakes, but that can happen with anything new, and potentially rushed out to meet demand. Hell, it happened with Fender, too. I don't know if you remember what happened with me when the Squier Bass VI's first came out and were delayed for months. I got one that had a broken neck on it. I was pissed and pretty much had nothing to do with the place for a while, but that was back in 2013, which is now 4 going on 5 years ago. I'm happy with what they've offered me since then, and not everything I did get was crap, like that was.

I remember the problem you had with it. I'd be mad as a hornet as well. Fender wasn't too on top of the first Bassman 500's out either. It's a crap shoot at best.

Well, at least it seems to be good, now. I'm just glad I've never had any problems with my Fender amps, knock on wood. I've had the Rumble going on 6 years now, this coming January, and it still works. Granted, I've only gigged with it one and haven't ran the hell out of it. It's still in pretty mint condition, too.

Usually in SS amps, a problem shows up pretty quick. A tube amp takes a while to show a problem.
