Yeah, I know what you mean. It seems like a well made product, so hopefully something won't happen to it. The funny thing is if I never got the deal I did on it, I never would have probably been able to afford it in the first place. It was just one of those lucky things, I guess.

That's another good reason to hang on to it. You would maybe have a tough time replacing it, if you parted with it, and wanted to replace it with another one of it's same type.

Yeah, originally I did try to sell it, because we could have used the cash and I was going to get a cheaper amp, but it never did sell, so I decided just to hang on to it. The only reason I'd replace it, is if it totally dies and it's not cost effective to get it fixed (if it costs more than buying another head, etc.) The thing that I do like about it, besides it's power, is it's portability. I like the fact you can just put it in a carry bag, put all your cables in the side pocket, sling it over your shoulder and go. I wonder if the Rumble 500 head comes with a carry bag? I know the older 350 head did, but I don't see it listed on the product page that it has one, so probably not.

That's good to know. I couldn't seem to find that info on Fender's product page, but I might have not been looking in the right place.

I looked on the specs section for the Rumble 500 head. I'm thinking about trading in the 500 Combo, for another Combo with a 15" onboard. Maybe a Rumble 200, or a Hartke.

What about a Rumble 500 head paired with one of their 15" cabs? They also have the 12" cabs, which I know you like, as well. You're getting tired of the 10" speakers?

I went with the Bassman 500 head / Bassman 115 Neo cab. It really does a knock out sound for both the USA GL Jazz, and the PJ Precision. The Precision has a great thump through it. I'm a believer of the 15" working the Precision. The Jazz Is no slouch either, through it.

That sounds like a good combination. 8) Yeah, Precision Basses and 15" speakers go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Yeah it is Paul. The sound really is somewhat a clacky heavy growl, that I'm not used to getting with a Precision. It's refreshing too hear it.

Yeah, the bigger speakers do make a difference. I guess it depends on what your preference is. Some like the smaller speakers, and some like the bigger ones. Speaking of bigger speakers, I've unfortunately not have had much of an opportunity to use my Orange stack (in fact, I've never even plugged the hollow-body into it, or even brought it upstairs to the rehearsal room,) since we've set up a studio down stairs, and makeshift rehearsal area in the office. I've been just using the Rumble combo, if anything, or the MXR M82 Bass Preamp when I did some recording. I'm hoping that now the EP is done, I'll be able to use it when we get ready for gigs and such. I suppose I could have brought that thing down here instead of the Rumble, but that amp has almost 3 times the wattage, and the Rumble is a bit too loud for the room as it is. I have to turn the volume on it way down, since it's a small area, 1/4 the size of the rehearsal room. The Rumble isn't a wimpy amp, since I've used it live and jammed with acoustic drums and didn't recall having to crank it too high.

Even if an amp is set at a lower volume, it's good to have the power to push it at the lower volume anyway.

Well, you do have the extra headroom available like that.

350 Watts is a good range to work with. I'm working with what you have, just a single 15 in place of 2X10's.

It's not exactly some puny little amp, either. Have you had any chance to crank it and see how the 15" rattles the windows yet?
