I keep listening to about anything they ever played, and get amazed at how they did what they did. There was of course George Martin producing them. But others had fine producers, steering them as they made their mark in music history. Cream, and Mountain had Felix to produce their legacy.

Imagine they did it all, starting with a 4 -track recorder, too.

Sound recording equipment had made some pretty good improvements in a fairly short time for a while back then. Pre digital that is.

That's true. It made a lot of advancements, like PA and instrument amplification. I guess it all went hand it hand.

It really was good move to not hold back on advancing electronics as they did. I'm surprised the sound gear back then, brought out the sounds it did. A lot of it wasn't that great for quality recording.

I suppose they did the best with what they had to work with. There was also the talent around to make it happen. It's amazing on how much of that has held up 50 or more years later.

Well Paul, here we are again. You with an Ampeg / Fender. And me with a Fender / Ampeg.
And so "The Road Goes Ever On".

Yeah, it's hard to believe it's been a half a century. Do you remember those retirement communities/condos/apartments/whatever that were 55+, and back in the day, that was your Lawrence Welk or Big Band generation? Now it would be rock music blasting out of those. :P Hell, I'm going to be 55 in 8 years, if I make it. That's just really bizarre to me.

Yeah, I just tipped father time again, at 67. I remember in the mid to late 60's, my grand parents talking about the new things called a condominium, and a retirement community. They were going to sell their house when my grand father retired. A couple of years later, they bought a small house in a new retirement community. That was different for us back then.

Hell, now you could qualify for that if you wanted to. I'm not so far off, either. I tell you what I might do is say to hell with it and sign up for those AARP discounts when and if I get there. Why not? Might as well take advantage of that. :P
