You crank it yet?

Yep. For a few minutes late yesterday afternoon. I set the settings close to what the 500 was at. I had to tune most of the settings down a bit, but it sounded fine, with a bit more power tube sound. It was worth going for the extra watts.

Sounds good. 8) You know, I should have read this before I responded to the other thread, since I did ask you about the setting there, since you mentioned this here. Oh well, $@!& happens. :P

No problem. When the topics get spread around like we do, it happens. Who cares. We're about the two major posters in the Bass areas. Image

Yeah, that does seem to be the case.

Do you ever wonder where all the other bass players are on here?

Yeah, I remember there were a few people that used to hang around a couple of years ago. I guess people move on to other things.

I'm either here, or over at TB for bass stuff. That's about it for me. The Gibson site I used to go to is really a dead spot for bass posts.

I've actually seen your posts over there in my internet searches. I remember you were dealing with a Marshall bass amp having issues in 2011, or so. I don't even think we were talking here on Fender at that point, because it was before I got the Rumble and joined the forum. Well, technically, I did post here with a couple of different accounts, about a Strat I wanted to fix up, but I really wasn't into the Fender thing at the time, and I didn't hang around like I did after getting the Rumble. Things like that can pop up if you're looking into info on things like amps and all of that. I suppose that's one good thing about TB, if you're trying to find any sort of info on some oddball amp from a long time ago. That Gibson forum not setting the world on fire, I take it, then? You still post there at all?

I was here on Fender some time ago with a different name. I had a lot of postings under the other name. And also at the Conservatory. For me, Gibson is a lost cause. I think I posted there a few months ago.

The Conservatory was fun for awhile, until certain individuals started to act like jackasses, so that was that for that one. I've never owned any sort of Epiphone, or Gibson instrument, so I've never had a reason to where I would join their forum. I did join the Orange forum, but that was kind of an "old boys' network," to where they weren't too responsive to newcomers, so that didn't work out to well, even though I'm probably still a member there, if they actually still have a forum.

A lot of places are just shutting that down, or just not active because people move on to other things, like Facebook, or Instagram. I guess that's the way the internet has always been. I wonder if Harmony Central still has a forum (or if Harmony Central still exists?) I think I had an account there like 100 years ago. :P They used to have all kinds of music related info, and stuff. There was links to gear sites, and music shops that were online. I'll bet most of those are probably gone now, with the exception of some gear manufacturers, which we know are still alive and kicking.

I used to be on a British Bass site for a bit. that was no big deal though. The Conservatory did flake out after a while.

I also remember that I'd also joined the Peavey forum, because I thought I was pretty sure I was going to get a Peavey bass head (I do have a Peavey bass, though,) but that deal fell through, and I had never bothered to post anything there. Who even knows if it's still active?

I was also on the Carvin forum years ago, but I've had issues with their gear, and company, and that's all gone, anyway. I can see why they are, too. I know they had their fanboys on TB, though. They got a little persnickety when I've made posts not so nice about their brand. I was just telling it how it was with my experience, and a few other people who had similar issues that I've known over the years. Hell, even their own forum had a lot of negative posts relating to the amps over the years.

That's gonna' happen. The Rumble kids at TB get yanked out of joint at anything negative about their stuff too. Some of them don't understand what I try to explain to them about certain things. So, I gave up, and deleted the posts. Hell with em'!

I've noticed that with a lot of TB posters, maybe that's a contributing factor to why I don't bother with that place, I suppose.

For me it's kinda' big, and busy enough to avoid the posts I don't care to get into.
