G&L Basses, and Guitars are pretty much Fenders. Very well made. I don't know about now, but sometime ago, G&L's could be ordered through, and by SA.

I just looked on the Sam Ash site and didn't see any listed, nor was Sam Ash listed as a dealer on the G&L page, so I'm assuming that's a negative with that. I did see some Gallien Kruger amps listed, which we were talking about elsewhere, on their site. So go figure with that one.

SA may have stopped ordering G&L's. For a while they had G&L Tribute Basses in stock on line. I'm totally at a loss with what may be going on with Gallien Kruger amps. I used a couple of their heads a few years ago and they were good. The MB Fusion 500 was really something.

I'm not sure what's going on, especially with both of those brands, and that store. Unfortunately, there isn't a Sam Ash around here, so I can't go to one, anyway, unless we're in New York, which we have done.

There isn't much really being said about either one. Yet they seem to be still turning out, and selling product.

That's true, they are still around. I do believe they still make a lot of the GK stuff in the US (which it doesn't matter that much, when you think your components are usually from various places in Asia, anyway,) which would explain the higher cost, because it does cost more because of wages and other expenses. I imagine that even that will change in places like China, to where it will be like Japan, and they'll have to go elsewhere for cheap labor. Maybe some random place like Chad, for example. That's the thing, people are going to want to make money and have stuff, no matter who you are, or where you live. Especially, with the internet, we're all globally connected, and anyone who has access can see that, and go, "Hey, why can't I have that, or do that?"

Your guess is as good as mine on the music industry in the future.

Yeah, Jim said it best when he said the future is uncertain, and the end is always near. :P

I'm not near any Roadhouses though. I may need to take a Crystal Ship to get to it. That would be ok, if I don't get slowed down by The Soft Parade.

I like playing through a Fender Amp again. It really does sound good. A nice, full, rich sound. Image
