That's a good way to put it. I have had other combinations that were decent. One I guess, was the Super Bassman / SVT-212AV, just not with SG Std.'s. I really do go for 12's with the SG's anyway. Here again, old habits that sounded good back then.

I went ahead and looked on the Gibson site, but for some reason, they don't have the 2018 SG bass listed there. They still had the older models listed, but I did find it on a couple of sites like Sweetwater and Music Zoo. The ebony model looks pretty cool, too.

I didn't look on Music Zoo. I haven't seen them shown on any other music store site. I don't get Gibson at all. I haven't seen any mention of the 2018 basses on Gibson either. Quite odd, but not that unusual for Gibson I guess. What ever the story is on them, I'm glad I was able to acquire my two SG Std.'s. Since I'm only able to acquire two of them, the Heritage Cherry, and Walnut are my best choice. And like I said before, it's ironic that the two I did choose, had the wood grain in the body I prefer, and they're both 7.10 pounds each. I consider that a big good luck for me.

Yeah, they sound like a pretty good deal, with the specs and all of that. 8) As for the lack of mentioning on their site, who knows? They still have models listed there from at least 2013, like the Faded Cherry SG Bass, but I doubt they are still making them, aren't they? I haven't seen them listed where they used to be for sale, but then again, I didn't do an extensive search.

They don't make most of the basses listed on the site. And from what I've seen, they don't list the ones they're manufacturing now.

At least the Epiphone site keeps theirs up to date. :P That part of Gibson seems to cater more to bassists, anyway.

Epiphone has the basses that Gibson should be putting out. The EB3L is one, under Epi's name, the EB3.

Yeah, because of the 34" scale neck, instead of 30" scale, like they were originally. I almost got an Epiphone EB0 bass when I got the Peavey, because there was something wrong with the tuner. In retrospect, I think the tuner would have been easier to deal with than having the issue with the Peavey and that strange A string buzz. How hard would it be to replace or fix that? Maybe it could have been also possible the string was put on the wrong way and I didn't realize it at the time? I remember it being a really solid bass, other than that.

How do you think the string was put on the wrong way?

Maybe it was wrapped around counter clockwise instead of clockwise, but then again, I'm sure I would have noticed the string wrapped around like that. I guess the tuner must have been screwed up on it somehow.

That could explain it, having being wrapped the wrong way.

That's true. I do wish that didn't have the issue it did, whatever it was, then maybe I wouldn't have been stuck dealing with the Peavey issue. Then again, who's to say it wouldn't have been something else? I think eventually I'll be able to get all of that situated.

Electrical issues can be a pain. About as bad as buzzing sounds too.

When I get my flats for the Precision Bass, I'm going to put the rounds on the Peavey, since they are a lighter gauge than the heavier flats that's on there now, and see what happens with that. I don't know if that would change anything, or not, but I do plan on having at least one or two basses with rounds on them, just for the different sound. I just decided that I don't think I want to use them full time.

Strings are enough sometimes to drive ya' crazy. Too many choices at times. I'm kinda' glad I just like, and use the ETB92M Nylons. Also now, I'm just dealing with one type of bass. The lazy way out!
