You know, that's something I've never done with my amps. I never thought about even doing that. My Ampeg was has been sitting unused for at least a year or so until I started using it again. If my girlfriend didn't get those Roland drums, it probably would still be sitting in the other room, and I'd still be using the Rumble 350 combo. I don't know when I'm even going to be doing any gigs yet.

It's not a must to do thing, but it doesn't hurt to do it either. Just one of those things.

That sounds like a good idea, anyhow. I think with anything, I've noticed my basses would get that issue with the knobs like that.

I had a decent time to play today, and it sure sounds like the speaker in this 100 is broken in just fine. This Rumble 100 would make a fine small venue amp. Great for in a small room, or area as well.

Yeah, I imagine it would work out well for that, especially with the DI out on it. They have pretty decent speakers, too.

The Eminence 12" is a fine speaker, and this is basically I guess the lower series of Eminence. I'd almost stack it up to an old style 12" JBL. Very punchy, and responsive to the passive / active characteristics of the Humbucking on the EB-0. I'm extremely biased to loving 12" speakers anyway.

JBL is still around, but they are in the PA and audio business these days, it seems. I don't think they make speakers for guitar or bass amps anymore, or even if they offer raw replacement speakers that they have for their PA stuff. I don't know what the modern equivalent to those would be today, since there are a few other brands out there that probably try to copy those. Eminence are really decent, I think. I like the ones in the Fender amps, anyway. There must be something about the combination of humbuckers that plays well with 12"s, even with guitars, which is more common, like a Les Paul into a Marshall kind of thing.

I'm personally more liking SG's into Marshalls. Eminence in Ampegs sound fine as well. I think most of the Ampeg SVT cabs use Eminence.

Yeah, SG into Marshall is a great combination. I think I'd prefer that, over a Les Paul, for having a 6-string, as well. Although, I do think Les Paul basses are really cool, since they are kind of a rare thing, as far as the whole Gibson/Epiphone designs go. How often have you seen those around, other than they made those once in a blue moon. You ever mess around with one, or even see one in a shop, for that matter? Either a Gibson, or Epiphone version. They did have some out within the past 20 years, that I do remember, besides back in the 70's/80's.

I wonder if Fender and Ampeg actually use the same Eminence model for their amps? Maybe that 10" in my Fender cab, or the Rumble 350 combo could also be in an Ampeg cab or combo? They do make more than one variant of a 10" speaker, though. I'm using that size as a reference, since that's usually the most common for bass, besides 15"s and 12"s.

The shops around here are overflowing with Gibson / Epi LP 6 stringers. Certain SG's as well.

They're probably a big seller around there, I imagine, if they carry so many.

Well,...... this is the Gold Coast as it's called. A lot of money floating around in this area. It's also not that unusual to have some big names show up in the area. The Gibson LP's, and Epi LP's do have many options for players to chose from. Some on the SG's of both Gibson, and Epiphone. The Margate SA, about ten miles from my place, just about always has two, or three $4,000., to $6,000. Gibson LP's, in their locked up display cases on the floor. A lot of Buckeroos there. Plus the regular high priced LP's, hanging on the wall behind the sales counters.

Yeah, some of those Gibson models can be up there in price, especially the Les Paul Custom. I don't know if I could ever justify spending that much on a guitar, if I even had that kind of cash. Maybe I would if it were some particular vintage instrument that cost that much, and I really wanted it for whatever reason. I'd probably certainly never gig with it, though. That would make me too damned paranoid. :P

Absolutely right about the out-lay of that much for something that could get damaged.
