That's cool that is has the old school slave out on it, for back in the day when you hooked up several amps for that wall of sound. That, and the PA was primitive.

100 watts tube isn't exactly a slouch in the volume department, especially in a smaller room. Guitar wise, it's ridiculously loud.

I know I have never pursued the difference of power, and volumes between tube, and SS heads. Example, what is 100 watts in a tube head, as compared to 100 watts in a SS head. 300 Watts in a tube head is right there to shake the place apart. You're correct about the 100 watts tube head in the smaller room. I think it's actually easier to set the head in a larger area. In the small room, the sounds fill the space, and don't have a chance to spread out.
Those 100 watt Marshall heads have always been almost overkill for sound, and power compared to our bass heads.

Yeah, it all has to do with bass frequencies required more wattage to produce the same volume, or something to that effect.

Yeah, the lower frequencies take more power for the speakers to produce, and move the sounds.

Which makes it more of a challenge for us.

It always has been. Even the Fender Twin Reverb amps from the 60's were little guitar noise machines. Those little sob's packed a punch, and more.

The Ampeg half stack is complete. I did acquire my SVT-212AV that sat at SA untouched since May.

Fender Twin Reverbs are pretty friggin' loud, that's for sure. Great for if you want a big clean sound, too.

You know, they seem to belong together, that head and that 2 x 12" cab. 8)

You know, they really do belong together. I myself do like them together. I'd have to believe this would give a Twin Reverb a run for the money.

Yeah, I'll bet it would. If a Twin wasn't an open back, I wonder how much of a bass amp you could make out of it? It certainly has more wattage than an original Bassman did.

Back in the 60's, it seamed like Fender Twin Reverbs were everywhere. Most of the lead players I backed on my bass used Twin Reverbs.

Yeah, I think they are still around like that. They certainly still make them, at least.

Yeah, and they even have them in special colors for places like AMS, besides the usual black with silver speaker grill.

The Twin Reverb is $1,449., and the the Super Reverb is $1,549. Those two are some heavy hitters, still.

I was in a band with a lead player I went to high school with, that played a Ric 6 stringer through a Super Reverb. His tone was DAMN NICE. He played Jimmy Page, and Eric Clapton in 1969-1970 that was incredible. We played Cream's BADGE in a good size hall for an audition. No smokin' and jokin' about it, Paul B. sounded identical to Clapton.

Yeah, Paul, his name was Paul as well. I was playing my Gibson EBO through the Traynor, and made homemade 212 cab. We really did sound good that day. Our good friend Nick was playing his Rogers drum set he acquired from a very famous drummer, also named Paul. A lot of Pauls here.

Sounds pretty cool. 8) Isn't that Super Reverb the one that has the 6 x 10" speaker configuration? I've seen one of those recently, and it looks like a beast.
