Haven't posted in awhile so thought I would post an updated pic of my gigging basses.

Still my #1;
2012 American Standard P 5 with added white pearl pg.

Purchased for a backup, but seeing a fair share of stage time;
2012 Squire Vintage Modified 70's Style Jazz 5 with lot's of mods.
SD SJ5-3's Bassline pups.....CTS pots.......Vitamin Q Cap.....Switchcraft jack......Copper shielded all cavities and back of pg......white pearl pg......2 round string retainers and Schaller strap locks........refinished in Surf Green including the headstock with a Squier replacement decal.

Both basses play and sound great.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
I guess it was a couple of years ago I posted all the mods on the Squier, except for the refinish.
Just got that done this year. It really turned out nice and I finally have a surf green bass. A color I've always wanted.
My world is complete....... :lol:

Love that surf green look. That's a refinish? Nicely done.

Thanks WI KISSfan......
Here's a pic of the bass when I first got it. The only option was a natural finish.

Nothing wrong with that, it's just I bought this as a backup and I wanted one that played well, but one that I could also modify anyway I wanted without worrying about hurting the value of the bass.
This Squire was perfect for that.
The satin finish on the neck is thin, very smooth and fast. Low action.
The tuners are smooth and hold. Intonation is easy to set and holds as well. Very good sustain. So I've kept the original tuners and bridge.
The bass sounded pretty good out of the box, but I wanted a little fuller sound. The electronic mods I did accomplished that.
Then the refinish. Always wanted a surf green bass. Also had the headstock done just because I like that look. They did a great job on it.
Got a guy on ebay to reproduce the decal. I wanted one as close as possible to the original because I'm not trying to fool anyone. He got pretty close.

Thanks. I really appreciate that.
I've played the bass at a few gigs now and I've received several compliments at each gig. So I guess I made the right choices.

I'm lovin' the colour and matched headstock on your Squire, grjo50. But, you have my thumbs up on both those axes. Nice. Very nice indeed.

Thanks Fender Strat Brat.......
I'm really liking the surf green myself. The bass turned out better than I had hoped.
I am partial to the passive p-bass and the big bottom thump it delivers. Gotta love it. It's been my main bass since I bought it in Feb '13.
It is nice though to switch to the Squier and get a more aggressive sound.
Change can be a good thing.
