Pretty cool. 8) Lot of choices back then. That would be cool if that were possible to have any bass or guitar available in any of those colors these days.

Hell, I'd like to have those vintage colors available on a contemporary car or pickup! Seems like everything today is either argent, pewter, graphite, or champagne. All of them "non-colors" in my book.

Just down the street from my place, some of those Classics gather on weekends. They sure are purty. I've played my friends '62 Daphne Blue Strat with original rosewood and it's purty too.

Sad to say, I have none of them. Oh well, better luck next time 'round. (I did have a black '63 Mercury Comet and a midnight blue '64 Parisienne, both 2 door hardtops, though.)

Nice that the respective cars were associated. Thanks, de Milo

The teal green brings back memories.
My first drive was an AMC Rambler, and the dashboard also had the same lacquer as the exterior. Much like:

It was the least reliable car ever to drive, though. Brakes were seriously underdimensioned, and I used to fill a can of oil every time I filled gas.
And the flat hood and trunk meant using the park-by-sound system, cause you couldn't really see much.
But nice color, nice color...

Since you mentioned a Rambler......

The only song ever to glorify the ignominious Nash.

Don't forget this one, which even hit top 40.

I didn't mention "Beep Beep" (though I remember the song as being one of my mom's AM radio favorites) since it had only minimal guitar content. It's a great tune though, thanks for the reminder.

Have to agree with Arjay on the color choices. There are only two color choices I even considered when choosing my new Corvette. Laguna Blue won out pretty much because it was the only blue offered. Back in the day, on Corvettes you had three or four to choose from...Lynndale, Nassau, Lemans, Elkhart, and Marina Blue all different shades from a light metallic blue to a deep navy metallic blue...those were the days!

The current blue is damn close to Fenders Lake Placid Blue, but I will leave that for you to judge for yourself...

My uncle had a Ford Falcon in "Ming Green". I don't see it in any of those charts, but it was very similar to the Surf Green or Sea Sprite Green.
I don't think my dad quite forgave him for going with a Ford. He was a Plymouth/Chrysler/Dodge man.
