Hey, that's what we usually eat for dessert! :P Although, they were out of it, so we had to buy the chocolate and vanilla swirl kind.

And I just picked up two chocolate cake puddings in a cup(s).

Well, I guess we all raised the price of chocolate with our supply and demand.
Who cares about the price of chocolate?
I say bring it on! :P

You know what's funny, is when I was younger, I really didn't have much of a sweet tooth at all, or where chocolate was that big of a deal to me. Now, I'm almost a chocoholic, although I don't cave into that, since I still do have another 20 pounds or so to still drop, and it's not exactly diet friendly. It's too bad it's not like broccoli. :P

I always liked chocolate. It hasn't done me any favors though.

Yep, and the stains on my T-shirts. I'm a slob.

Don’t forget how much fun it is to get a mess on the fingers and chin. In my house it’s dangerous to get it on the furniture or the rug. But dang it tastes good. Chocolate slobs apply here and unite. I’m in. :P
Too bad they don’t make regular or sugar free chocolate Jello. Just think how good that would be with a whipped topping or as a Jello shooter. Better still we could mix the chocolate Jello with other flavours like orange, raspberry, strawberry, and so on.

Are ya listening Kraft?

Do you think Kraft is paying attention?

That was so funnee, Glenn. The answer is nope; but, ya never know.

I did run into E.D. Smith Jr. (a major longtime family food manufacturer in Canada) some years ago. I missed the blackberries I grew up with in another province. I asked him why they and others didn’t make blackberry jam. I told him there were blackberrys rotting all over on the west coast and elsewhere, and I knew picking amongst the thorns was a problem. He took out a notepad from his pocket and wrote as I talked, showed me his notes, and said, “I’ll look into it. If you see E.D. Smith Blackberry Jam you’ll know where it came from”. The rest is history. So are the shirt stains.

Sometimes ya just gotta try.

I lived in the Utica N.Y. area for a year when I was a kid. We used to go into the hillsides, and pick wild blackberries as we walked along. They were great. I'll keep an eye out for that E.D. Smith Blackberry Jam. It sounds good.

I don’t want to steer you to the wrong grocery aisle, Glenn.

E.D. Smith has changed over the years and with it so have the blackberries. Today, there are plenty of blackberry jam options, not so (at least in this neck of the woods) back in the 70s.

This is the closest to E.D.Smith’s, but I’ve yet to find it recently, and they are into 3 Fruit jams now.

Ya never know you might run across it.

Today I had a Canada Dry Blackberry Ginger Ale (not sure if diet is available). It’s not always available as well. It’s likely seasonable for marketing purposes and therefore my bar fridge is packed (see recipe below).

I have the Blackberry Gingerale to replace my usual real ginger beer, the same copper mug (has to be stainless lined to prevent unwanted leaching and acid reaction to mixes), and my 45 year old favourite Mule know how. Enjoy!
