I'm like you, Marky. Having worked in a technological field, I am leary of accepting new things at times, but also very open to them. Thinking outside the box fills our lives with all sorts of possibilities and wonderments. My experience is that the old works very well with the new. Transference of skills can be beneficial. Often the knowledge and hands on of the original can lead to well thought out and better executed application in the new discovery or journey.

Just think of the analog possibilities when a function is applied precisely at a faster rate or in a way that is humanely impossible. We have that in percussive instrumentation now. For a drummer, that's hard to swallow . . . but, it is what it is. Nuances and mojo may not be present in the same way, and yet other factors will come about.

That concept is out there for all instruments; but, like classic cars, classic sound and performance will have a place. Maybe, in a museum, but I won't live to see that.

Rock on Joe Walsh. :D

Very well said, FSB. I agree. :D

Thanks. I had one before that had been screwed with in the store. I like the Sea Foam Pearl too.

Thanks Paul, the MIM basses are pretty good anymore.

Slightly off topic, but do you still have your Rumble 500 combo? I noticed you don't have it listed with your gear in your signature.

A Snark to go with my parlor guitar ( Jim Dandy Christmas gift, Gator hard case birthday gift). It took awhile to get the tuner at Guitar Center because I'm just not as mobile as I used to be. Sorry about no photos yet. I need a new photo hosting site.

Yes, I still have it. I just forgot to add it back in. I'm impressed with the evolution of the Rumble series amps. It does seem to have everything I like in a bass amp.

Oh, OK. I thought that perhaps when you went in the shop some amp GAS got a hold of you. :P It does happen from to time, you know.

I do seem to recall some issues of GAS, involving some bass amps. I do however like my 500C. I'm looking forward to running the USA Geddy Lee Jazz through the Rumble.

That should be a nice combo. The Fender amps do seem to pair well with Fender instruments (Squiers, too.)

Squiers, I would think would play well through Fender amps, since they to are based on Fender electronics too. I played the PJ for a bit, and it's a good sound with the 500C. 350 Watts is fine for my playing anymore.

I've heard that amp is pretty powerful, sans an extension cab. I wouldn't necessarily call 350 watts wimpy, and this is from someone who has a 1000 watt head, as ridiculous that may be. :P I take it you're not going to pursue the 12" speaker option, then?

As much as I would like to, I'm doing fine without it. I had the Ampeg 1,000 watt head, and it didn't wow me, by any means. The Super Bassman was a WOW head! All 65 pounds of it.
