My father-in-law had an Imperial in Baby Blue, with the 413 engine in it. He had more spare parts for that car than most parts stores did. He also had a Tradesman pickup, with a factory installed 318 V8. He had that one made up special at the factory. Slant 6 engines were the standard engine for those trucks. The same color too.

My Dad and I went for a ride in Chrysler's turbine car running on peanut butter that was more expensive than regular fuel, and my uncle traded his Imperials every year while he worked for Castrol on the road. As you pointed out there were some good Chrysler products (my roomie had a breathtaking beautiful new 1970 Plymouth GTX, green similar to your bass, Glenn, tinted green windows, and white interior. They can go for up to around 100 grand today), and the fact that Plymouth and Dodge parts were seldom interchangeable it made things awkward at times. Good reason for your father-in-law's collection. I loved the slant six engine, and our work truck at the TV station was a cool '65 Dodge Fargo that went forever even with every Tom, Dick, and Harry abusing it.

Whatever one thinks about any given vehicle, one thing for sure, we are lucky that Fender chose to share those colours with us throughout the years. :D

I liked Plymouths myself. I had the Belvedere, and two Valiants. Then I had a Simca, that was French built Chrysler, sub compact size car. What a POS it was.

Variax Standard in 20th Anniversary Emerald Green.
What an amazing guitar.
I will be keeping all my Strats and Teles to get my Fender tones though.

Cool.
Every once in a while I find myself wondering if i should experiment with that 3 pup James Tyler version of the Variax, the JTV-69-US. Some of the features, if they deliver as promised, look pretty amazing.

The worst job I ever had was making cowboy records.

Howdy pressing.

Very nice, VintageBrit. I remember being amazed at the Variax when it was introduced. Seems like yesterday. Where does the time go? Enjoy that great guitar.

That chair looks perfect. Sam Ash sells it for $149.99. I'm looking for a new chair. Hmm... has he got another one?

I just picked up a 1963 Deluxe Reverb, production #1 (Oct 63).. Very clean and original.. I'll be looking for a replacement speaker (to save the original speaker for next owner, if there is one).. Any ideas?
