I bought this on the used market.
It was filthy with dog hair stuck in dried liquid and a year's worth of dust.
I almost got cooties just cleaning it up.

This thing is large.
It's about 2¼ times as wide as a BOSS and about 1⅓ times as long.

I messed around with it for about 90 minutes or so.
It's fairly easy to navigate.

First impressions:

I wondered if it was going to sound "digital".
It doesn't, although I'm sure it must be.

I like the fact there are 3 foot-switches for storing presets.
It looks like there are banks for storing more than 3 but I haven't tried that yet.

I like the fact there are two separate gain stages.
I can't say for sure yet with only 90 minutes under my belt but that by itself may well be the best feature of the whole unit.

I'm not crazy about the fact all the various sounds have the same kind of hair, akin to a BOSS DS-1 and a Fuzz together.
They all share a similar texture but with different quantities of gain available and different freqs that get pushed out front.

I dialled up 3 settings, one for light OD, one medium and one crunchy and balanced them all to unity and adjusted the EQ to taste.
It's not bad but I think I need more time with it.

I didn't touch the two controls related to backpage because I'm not even sure what that means.
Hopefully that 's where some greater sonic differences lie.
I need to study up first though.
It's the only part of the control panel that doesn't jump out as "easy-peasy" to this geezer.

I re-acquired my AC Jazz on a swap with a friend who had the AC Jazz.

Did he keep the nylons on it, or did you changed them out originally, then back again when you got it back?

I changed them back out, I had them from before for this bass. I could've just left the Nylons on it, he never played it.

My new mini pedal arrived in today's mail,it's a Mooer Mod Factory multi modulation pedal. This is a really cool little unit.I'm amazed that they can pack 11 modulation functions in a pedal that takes up less than 1/2 the floor space than most standard single function 9V pedals. The mod functions it has are: chorus, flanger, phaser, envelope phaser,tremolo,stutter,vibrato,Univibe,auto-wah,touch wah, envelope ring.I haven't tried all the functions I got as far as Univibe and up to that point they are all every bit as good as bigger single or double function pedals. The Tremolo is fabulous,I was able to get anything from barely detectable tremolo as The Beatles used in some of their guitar parts(if you listen very closely) to "Crimson & Clover" all the way up to the heavy tremolo in The Smith's "How Soon Is Now".The chorus,Univibe and vibrato are also top shelf, with the wide range of the 3 dials, which vary in function dependant on which effect you are using.Your tonal, depth and modulation speed are each almost infinitely adjustable so you have an almost boundless range of possibilities of what sounds you can get from these 3 functions alone.

I paid just over $100 Cdn. for it at Music Express Canada. This is my 3rd Mooer pedal, with the other 2 being the Soul Shiver with vibrato, chorus and rotary (Leslie) which are top shelf, the other is the Pure Octave pedal with has the usual 1 octave up or down and in addition to that 2 octaves up or down and just about any combination of these settings. The ability to use so many different octaves at one time really opens up many possibilities for a guitarist, for instance,I played the chorus of Jimi's "You Got Me Floatin' " and was blown away by how much it sounded like the original.I haven't used any of the other mini pedal brands, but from what I've heard about them and have heard on YouTube, most of them are of very high quality.Mooer is even making tiny Micro amps that produce as much as 50W.I wouldn't be surprised if in the no too distant future, musicians would be able to get to gigs etc. with all their gear-other than their guitar-in just one backpack or one small suitcase.

That's a beauty, Glenn. What colour green is that baby? Reminds me of my Dad's '60 Plymouth Belvedere.

The pedal BMW-KTM picked up looks like quite the score.I imagine that once you get used to it,you'll likely be able to put it on settings that emulate some classic distortion,O/D,fuzz pedals from the original Fuzz Face onwards.Usually a lot of these pedals have a lot more functions and uses than are apparent at first blush.I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who hasn't become totally comfortable with all aspects of the current digital technology.I have a Vox AD-120-VTH hybrid cloning amp (with a 412 BN Vox cab) and the VC-12 Foot Controller,a Tascam Portastudio DP-01 FX/CD and several other "new fangled" devices that I have trouble getting my head around.Long before Joe Walsh wrote "I'm An Analogue Man In a Digital World",I used the same expression in describing my Luddite ways.Enjoy your new toy my friend,it looks like it could be a lot of fun just experimenting with it.BTW: Did you check online for a User's Manual? If the company that made it is out of business or no longer carries the manual you could probably find one on one of the Vintage Pedal oriented sites online or on Facebook etc. I've gotten a lot of info from some of these sites.

Hey Derek,
Yah, I did find a manual online.
Manual Link

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to explain, or even mention, the backpage controls.
I think I will send an email to Source Audio and ask them about it.

It's Sherwood Green Metallic. I had a 1967 Plymouth Belvedere in white. I had it painted Richard Petty, Electric Blue.

Electric blue. Awesome colour. My father had many Chrysler products including a cool baby blue 2 door hardtop bucket seats '62 Valiant Signet which I had for Grad. In '73 I paid saved up cash (stupid me) for a long awaited custom ordered electric blue Dodge Charger with a white interior and first year raised white letter polyglas tires. It must have looked good -because it went missing! Many months later I found out that it was deceivingly sold from under me for more money 1500 miles away. A replacement white one was a terrible lemon, parts nightmares, and little or no customer relationship (even under my calm approach) where the dealers said it was head office and head office said it was dealer responsibilities for dozens of unrelated worksheets in six months before my selling the car. I haven't been back to Mopar since. I've heard parts for new vehicles can still be a mystery. Electric blue or not. YMMV

Today I picked up my 3rd guitar in the past 8 weeks,it's one of the recent Hagstrom acoustics and it's by no means anywhere near the quality of the Swedish made Hagstroms of the '60s and '70s,or for that matter of the MIC Ultra Swede Select SL-2 that I picked up for stupid low money at our only local pawn shop a couple of years ago.I basically bought because it was a Hagstrom-if only in name- and that it was only $100.This guitar is my 4th Hagstrom, with the other 3 including the Ultra Swede Select-a '66 Candy Apple Red Hagstrom II and a '63 Corvette. The electric Hagstroms always had just about the slimmest and easiest playing necks of all guitars.I was going to cut off buying guitars-for a while at least at 36 but this one makes 37,so now I'll have to keep going until I at least reach 40.An old jamming buddy and high school classmate of mine has even worse G.A.S. and A.S.S. (amp stockpiling syndrome) than I have he quit keeping track of his guitar numbers about 5 years ago when he reached 100-at that point he also had at least 40 amps.
