How's it sound? I have a Mooer SkyVerb that I like a lot.

Havn't tried it though my gig rig yet just through my orange micro terror and a cheapo practice amp at my band mates last night. Sounds nice though plenty of range on it.

And whoever thought the pressure pads where a good idea needs a raise. Not having to worry about whether your pedal is switched on or off is great. And watching how hard my band mate has to press on his cry baby to switch it, he was quite jealous and impressed.

Using it barefoot takes some getting used to, but with some footwear on you don't notice the pads or size of it.

Interesting, maybe worth checking one out. Thanks for posting!

I got a set of Rotosound medium scale flatwounds for my hollow-body violin bass. I suppose that's technically a gear purchase. :P The rounds just didn't sound right to me with that bass.

My latest gear purchase was A set of Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded Humbucker Set and they are getting put in my Fender American Standard Strat. Can't wait to get it back to play with. I also got a great deal on a Vox AC30C2 amp. It sounds great but I believe it still got its original tubes in it and I think they are starting to get a little bad... so I'm going to replace all the tubes with JJ tubes soon.

I bought a Fender Vintage Voltage Coil instrument cable: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor ... ment-cable
First of all....for some reason, Fender doesn't even have them on THIS site....so I had to go 3rd. party. Secondly; this thing isn't even close to 20 foot long (I don't care how much you stretch it). After gently massaging and easy pulling, and stretching, and over-all taking the stiffness out of the coils....I am lucky to get 10 feet out of it.
The cable DOES look really cool, and is built really well...but stop trying to sell it as a 20 foot cable---it's not about how much cable it takes to MAKE it...it's about how much USEABLE cable is there for the purchaser (yes, I physically measured the USEABLE cable, and it's 10 feet before you start popping the jacks out of the amp or guitar). Glad I only paid nineteen-ninety nine for it on Stupid Deal Of The Day instead of the thirty-five it is advertised for today---because it would have been sent back.

It has never been sufficiently explained to me why curly cords allegedly "sound warmer" than straight cords.
Any time I have ever asked the question, the answer always comes back as something along the lines of: curly cords have higher capacitance due to more copper being used per foot of cable.
Presumably the more copper thing relates to your frustration of 20 feet of cable resulting in only 10 usable feet.
As I understand the definition of capacitance, it refers to the ability of an object to contain and/or store electrons.
That's where I stop.
My brain doesn't "get" the correlation between increased copper mass and reduced highs, particularly considering the low level of a guitar signal.

Unless ......
Unless what is really at play there is resistance.
That I can understand.
Resistance, voltage drop, etc.
That stuff makes sense to me.
That's not what people say though, when you ask about curly cords.
They usually cite capacitance.

May I ask why YOU wanted a curly cord, White Dog?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You may.

Because I believed the product description:
FEATURES:
*Expands to 20 feet
*24 gauge oxygen free copper
*Spiral oxygen free copper shielding
*Rugged metal connectors
*Durable PVC covering
*Limited lifetime warranty

And I've always thought they looked cool and retro. But the lack of "stretch ability" turned me off enough that I'm not impressed with any 'qualities' it may have built into it.

By the way; if it is supposed to make a difference in sound, tone, clarity, etc... I can't tell the difference between this or the Vintage Voltage straight (tweed) cable I usually use---but to be fair, I've only compared the two on my Super Champ X2. Maybe I should compare them on my Blues Junior, or one of my Solid State amps (without effects).
