My friend just got an Epiphone Wildkat with the Bigsby for pretty cheap and he also has a Casino Coupe. They seem to be making some decent guitars. He doesn't have any complaints.

Haha, your friend would feel at home at Casa Krashpad! I also have a WildKat, and a Casino (although mine is full size, and with some mods by a prior owner). Here's the whole Epiphone stable:

That's pretty cool collection. 8) He got one of those special edition ones in black that I guess they had out a couple of years ago.

Just bought a Cardioid Condenser Microphone from an online store. I am really a novice with microphones...but very happy with this. Great quality for the price.

My last gear purchase will be an Ampeg SVT-212AV bass cab.

[quote="Mr. Nylon"]The White Opal showed up. It's NICE.

The White Opal is a real kicking Jazz. I played it through the Fender / Ampeg amp yesterday, and it sounds great!

Yep. A good Fender Jazz, for a good price too. It looks good, and plays good.

How do you like that amp? I have an Orange Terror Bass 1000 head that I have besides a couple of Fender amps, so I do like the brand quite well. I've been thinking about a replacement guitar amp to where I don't have to gig with my 1982 Fender Super Champ, if I have to play guitar live. It's 18 watt tubed, with a 150 watt EV Force 10 speaker equipped, so something with comparable volume would be ideal for my purposes, and I don't have a lot of money to drop on something that's a secondary instrument to me. The reason I would rather not gig the Super Champ is because it's in pretty much mint condition, never gigged out, and I've seen similar models go for $1000 in beat up condition. The less wear and tear on it, the better.

Why not? 144 is a reasonable amount of plectrums to have, considering probably 98% of them will magically disappear in some vortex in the house somewhere. :P

How do you like that amp?

I have the predecessor, 35LDX, and had a 35RT for a week before returning it, keeping the LDX. They're both analog solid state amps (unless you engage digital effects) with a pretty beefy gain stage for SS amps.
The main difference is that where you earlier had a large number of ho-hum digital effects, of which you could pick just one, they have now picked it for you - it's digital reverb. And it now has an effects loop instead of a line out. But the biggest change is that the 35RT is a closed back.

That said, they're both good practice amps. The RT is better at low volume, but doesn't handle higher volumes as well as the LDX, presumably due to the closed back. They're both relatively low powered at 35 solid state watt, which is probably around what a 5W tube amp can give, so not a lot of clean headroom. The built-in headphone amp takes a full sized plug, and is strong enough to drive most headphones.
The overdrive is dirty, as you'd expect from a British amp. I like it.
The clean channel does not roll off on the treble side as quickly as most amps, so you can use it with an acoustic. As long as you don't dial in the reverb, because it is craptacular on both models. Use anything[*] else.
The built in tuner (same for the entire Crush line) is also rubbish, but better than nothing, I guess. It'll get you within a quarter note, at least.
But for practice use with some dirt and gain, or a garden party, they're both quite good value for the money. Easy to carry, and a good in-your-face sound.

[*]: A copper pan placed behind the speaker would be a better reverb than the built-in. The RT only has one of the four reverb models of the LDX (the "spring" one), but that's no big loss, because they're all bad, in my humble opinion.

It's certainly not a tube amp, and you won't get nearly as much clean headroom, but if you want a gain knob that actually does a lot to the sound, and a good dirty channel, this is a great little amp. It weighs very little, and you can leave the boost and drive pedals at home (but bring a reverb pedal).

After about a week or less of play the plectrum is pretty rounded and worn, out of my 2 locals, only one carries fender picks, and I seem to like them, and they only have singles, and I buy a dozen at a time, well when I stopped in 2 weeks ago they were out and I was down to my last one so I decided to order a dozen or more on line. I saw they sold them in a gross amount for 19 to 20 cents a pick and as a dozen they are around 33 cents per, I did not get 144 for the savings more for the convenience of having them around
