Have her strung with D'Addario balanced tension 9-40 gauge strings and bending is a pleasure.

I love those guitars! 8)

There use to be a Squier version in the window of a music shop that was in town that I'd GAS over every time I went by. Sadly, both are gone now.

Nice! I played one of these the other day on a lark, and was pleasantly surprised at how well it played. Built much better than the previous generation of these!

Congrats!

Thanks! I'm impressed by the build quality and I definitely don't miss the mini-switches and the tremolo bridge I used to fight with on my '65 Mustang Reissue. The pickups have more attitude, too and it's fun to play. Think I'll keep her a while.

Thanks, Paul. I remember seeing a Squier Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic with a Desert Sand finish and a gold anodized pick guard that tempted me a few years ago but it sold and I haven't seen another one.

The current Offset Duo-Sonics and Mustangs are made in Mexico and I didn't hesitate this time. I online ordered mine before I had the chance to play one and it has exceeded my expectations enough that I'm GASsing for one of the MP-90 Mustangs.

Yeah, that's exactly the same Squier. The one they have in orange has especially my attention. That's a color you don't see too often, it seems.

The tube head does have a nice low tone to it. The Eminence Neo 15 doesn't hurt either in the mix.

It's just a shame the tube heads are as expensive as they are.

Yeah, kind of ironic considering it's like 100 year old technology and new tech like Class D is a fraction of the price.

Yeah, the maintenance on them isn't cheap, either. Replacing the tubes, etc.

Depending on how good the tubes are, and the head itself, the maintenance can be low. I myself have a good feeling about the design of the Fender Automatic Bias system to help keep the tubes bias, and showing when there may be a tube problem.

That's cool it has something like that.
