OK it's settled and I feel much better that I'm not giving up something I could never replace. Plus, there still is lots of love for it. In fact, I'm going to play it now. 8) Thanks for your input guys. You helped save me from making a big mistake. :D

That’s the ticket, Marky. Here’s another thing to make you feel good about it. If somebody else wants it, you can always have bragging rights that you have it, and they don’t. :P

Okay Glenn, and Mike: Loaded silly question here. Aside from the pup covers are the pups and electronics the same? I guess the question comes down to “Has there been a change large or small in the Epi Viola in the pup selection overtime?” or has it remained true to the original? How about finish?

Can you give a weight comparison? That would be interesting. Thanks, my brothers.

- Gary

Mine has the original pickups (pups) and is very lightweight. The finish is
very nice and I like the Epi case as it fits it well.
Thanks, for chiming in, Mike. Nice to have that historical vibe.

I have no issues with my pups, or the finish. My Epi fits into the case nice, and snug. It weighs in at 7.6 pounds, a very comfortable bass. My "Electric Lady" is original, except for the D'Addario ETB92M Nylon strings.
As crazy as it may sound, I prefer my Epi Viola over the German Hofner 500/1 I had. I like the feel of it, and it plays smoother for me anyway. And, no complaints about the sounds from it either. I do think Epiphone basses, and guitars are top quality instruments, and not breaking the bank to purchase them.

I just ordered myself a Squier Bullet Telecaster Limited Edition in Surf Green. I've heard good reviews for this and I figured I could roll the dice on it since it was only $130. We'll see when it comes in. Fingers crossed.

That's a nice looking stand, Mike. It must be nice to have your favorite guitars handy like that.

Nice. 8) I wish I had gotten one or two of those, instead of the folding two or three guitar holding stands that I do have. Even though that one is usually more expensive (probably the reason I didn't get it in the first place,) it does take up less room because your guitars are lined up together in the same direction.

Yes Mike, nice stand. They make a lot of sense for keeping everything together, and in a sturdy stand.

That looks to be a stand good stand, Mike. Did it come with those great looking accessories? :P Nice!

I wish I’d bought a sturdier and heavier stand when I bought my Strat that after only three months fell forward putting a small nick in the head. Almost nothing to speak of considering that a rack full of audio gear stopped it. That’s how you give a guitar character. Put the singular stand on a carpet. A good candidate for ugly sand bags.

Thanks, it's a Hercules I got for about $80 and folds up easily for transport.

Heritage w/P90s, Les Paul, Homebrew Tele, Fender Strat & Fender Tele.

The others stay in cases until I need them and that reminds me. The air is getting very
dry now. If you haven't already done so, now that the central heat is on for the winter (at least in northern US climes), it is time to humidify your acoustic instruments. Ideally, they should kept in the closed case when not in use. Remember that instruments are comfortable in the same conditions that humans are. Cold, heat and humidity should be considered. Cheaper than repairing cracks!

Nice rack Mike! never thought I'd say that to a dude.
I see you have all the bases covered too.
I'm still lacking a P90 axe....the Heritage looks pretty nice,

Thanks sfceric64! I keep whatever I'm using most out. I have a few others that
stay in the cases until I need them. 9 electrics, 3 acoustics...I downsized.

A good choice on the Hercules stand.
