Just catching up a little here. Classic rock and roll look there, Riderock. Great lookin’ Stratocaster. :D
Got a laugh out of yours and Matt’s GAS over junk, Marky. That kit looks to be some good American Pickin’ on your part. Beauty.

Your black PG looks fine on your Strat IMHO, Marky. YOMV. I had a nice Tungsten 2011 Strat that played very well. It had what I believe to be a decent Indian rosewood neck and it’s black PG looked like the one you have on your Stratocaster. The PG held black witch hats that matched those of the amp it played through. All very nice. What I didn’t care for was the color combo of the neck and the body. I realize that the tungsten body and the fretboard of rosewood is popular with some, but, since this combo didn’t keep my interest, I preferred the unavailable on this particular model maple fretboard with the tungsten. I do prefer rosewood with many other colours, however. As for white pearl PGs, I have to say the original white pearl nitrocellulose PGs were something to rave about. There are some custom white pearls out there today that have a similar pizazz, but I think, in general, today’s versions more often than not fall short. As long as it’s not a side by side competition of pickguards, who's to notice? Besides, just like my taking back the tungsten axe that was fine as it was, it comes down to personal mojo. :D
I used to haul a lot of heavy gear back in the day too. Rev. Cameras without their heavy lenses weighed 100 pounds +/- , cumbersome heads and tripods (fit to be lifted in a gym), and long heavy thick cables (unmeasurable as they varied in length, size, and composition). Today reduced gear is featherweight in comparison. I was lucky to not have major injuries, but I learned that age always presents payback, I do know that a rapid movement with a fall or pain can often spell a worse injury, Here’s a caution I discovered. I was in a hurry to exit a class A motor home, the steps did not come out, so I jumped to the ground. Compacted gravel. The ground didn’t give and I did. Ouch! Pain from my feet to my head. For a pinched nerve on the lower back that flares up once in a while I grab and hang from the upper door frame. It works, but I doubt I'll be doing that for much longer. Take care with that back issue Rev J. I do agree with you and Glenn that stairs are the enemy at times.

One thing that helps is for a while I was doing "The New York City Ballet Workout". The stretches are great and since I do a lot of rolling clients in bed I've found by turning out my hips and doing plies I can keep my back straight while doing it.

I'm getting ready to take 5 well earned days off from work. The last time I took and extended period off from work was during the last New Hampshire primary. I'm cooking up a big pot of Jambalaya and Chili Pepper Cornbread tomorrow.

C/S,
Rev J

Thank you Sirs. I was compelled to get the Hofner, to replace the one I had a couple of years ago.

My new years resolution of not buying any guitars this year keeps going further and further to heck. After two EVHs,yesterday I took delivery of a cherry red 12 string Guild Starfire. In my own feeble defence; as addictions go, guitars are surely preferable to heroin?

I'm sorry I didn't post this when I got it (better late than never):

I posted this pic in the bass amp thread in Jazz Basses but figured I'd post it here too.

Cool bass. 8) By the way, have you seen the new Mustang bass they have out now in any of the stores? It's more expensive than that one, though.
