I just got a Celestion FTR184080F 18" speaker to load in my bass cab, to replace the 4 ohm one that's in there, so it's 8 ohms, and I can run both that and my 2x10" cab together.

That should sound great. 8)

We got installed tonight and it was a major pain in the arse! Come to find out the speaker is a little smaller than the original one and didn't quite line up with the original holes. So, since it is just wood and screws, we made that SOB fit! :P I hooked up the amp and everything is working and no rattling, since we did get those screws in pretty good. Tomorrow, I'll get the grate back on and hook up the other cab. Rig complete. 8)

I had an Ibanez Artcore that wasn't getting much use so when I was asked
at a recent jam if I'd be interested in a trade for this bass, I just couldn't refuse.
I put LaBella flats on it and it *thumps* pretty good.

I've seen a few demos of that bass and I thought it sounded pretty good. 8) I've had some GAS for a hollow/semi-hollowbody bass since I was 16, pretty much. Someday, I hope to finally be able to get one.

I had not heard very much about the Black Finger before so I did a YouTube search.
My gawd but what a huge pedal that is. It's is the physical volume of at least 5 TS9s.
It's nice a warm sounding. Hope you enjoy.

Ordinarily a post like this would have me running out to try the new pedal but I have pretty much given up on compression as a clean effect anymore. I don't care for the trade-off. I still use compression sometimes in front of a gain stage, particularly if I'm going for that late 70's - early 80's parked-wah/crunch sound; ZZ-Top, Boston etc. Unfortunately the sheer size of the BF is extremely prohibitive for my uses and with my reduced use of compression in recent years anyway, well let's just say I hope YOU enjoy it.

------------

Is there some reason all the posts are in bold lately?

Yes, it is a big boy! since it is only my second pedal(my first was a CryBaby) space is not a issue right now. So far I'm liking the way it sounds. I did research on it and I read it can be use for bass, voice and drums also.

I'd like to see that one doubled up with this one (a JHS stutter pedal):

last purchase: TC Electronics Hyper Gravity Compressor. Very nice. It does lots of stuff once you hook it up via USB to your PC and get into the Tone Print stuff. Transparent, yet, effective!

I just picked up a 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Maple Fretboard in Mystic Red and virtually brand new. still had all the plastic on it and the Tremolo whole still had the cover on it. It was Love at first strum with the custom Shop Fat 50's pick ups. I have had a tone of guitars a LOT of Mexican Strats and while they were nice guitars none every made me want to keep them. I now see the difference between the Mexican and American Strats and I am NOT dissing the Mexicans but there really is something special about an American Standard that makes it a keeper for life. They are truly Special Guitars and the 2012 Model is the nicest I think I will ever own. I truly hope you all enjoy your guitars , whatever it is. Steve

nice! enjoy! Those fat 50s pickups are nice sounding single coils for sure. My 2014 Amer. Standard has these. I like them. They have a nice contrast to the other strat I have with Texas Specials which have quite a bit more crank to them.

I just bought a MONO, M80, Vertigo soft bass case. It's pretty solid for a soft case.
