Uh-oh. I got it. That could turn out to be an expensive case.

800 watts!? Crank that baby, and maybe I can have a listen up here in the north. :P I like the look, Glenn. Reminds me of the minimalist look of high end audiophile gear. The fact that it has quality sound characteristics too is very nice. Looks like a winner. Enjoy. :D

Thanks, it really cranks with the Ampeg SVT-410HLF cab. It's 500 watts, and peaks at a 1,000 watts. A pretty decent combination. Image

Speaking of 800 Watts, what's going on with the Ampeg PF-800? Are you peeling any paint off of the walls in your place? 800 Watts is getting too be a magic number.

It's doing good. I'd still like to try out recording with it some day, since you don't have to run it with a cab. If not, I still have the MXR preamp to use for that purpose. At least I don't need to use the MXR live, like I did with the Orange head. I tell you that it's like night and day between the Orange and Ampeg heads, as far as tonal options go.

Dang! I can’t believe I posted in the wrong thread again. Phooey!

Maybe, I’m not taking enough meds.

Or . . . could it be a gremlin? Yeah right.

I just got a Blackstar HT1R MKII. Fun little amp and great for the home studio.

My Players Series Tidepool Strat got here today too, but it's already back in the box waiting on an RMA. Did not like :(

Congrats on the Blackstar HT1R MKII, ajb1965. Nice little amp. The fact that it sounds good at low volume too will be handy.

It’s unfortunate about the Players I Series Tidepool Strat. Although, I haven’t seen or heard it in person, it appears to be a looker, and with the Alnico 5s it seems to, personal choice of course, check a lot of boxes. Of course, being Alnico 5s doesn’t always equate to a specific sound as there are variables. Hope you get your mojo with a replacement.

Roll Tide!. :P That’s a pretty rich looking finish. 8) Definitely a mojo maker. Followed you home, huh? Yeah, right,

Yeah I was really disappointed about the Player. I was expecting to do some fret work, even had all my files, tape, etc out and ready to go. Ironically the fret work was really good, but there were other things that I would have probably let slide on a $300 Squire, but not a $700 guitar. The nut was not cut properly, the bridge saddles were all cocked to one direction no matter what I did, and the neck looked like a B-stock. Dings and areas where the clear finish didn't apply that looked like raw wood. I set the relief and and adjusted the saddles and even at 5/64ths (which is high for my tastes) I could not stop it from buzzing all over the place. Most likely the nut and saddles wreaking havoc with me.

Another odd thing was the serial on the neck began as MX17. Since the Player didn't get introduced until summer 2018 I have to assume they used the surplus Standard necks first.

It did sound nice though :)

At the end of the day it's all good. I still have faith in the fine folks in Ensenada, but it just fueled my fire (and G.A.S.) to get another American strat, which is what I really wanted to begin with

Congratulations on the amp. Sorry about the guitar, though.

It's funny how they do that when you go into those places. :P

Cool bass. 8)
