The fret board is a good looker, overall a great looking BASS, congrats.

Thank you Sir. I think it's a pretty decent fretboard on it as well. The Pau ferro is at times, a good replacement for Rosewood.

Thanks Marky. It got my attention to acquire, being a short scale to have with the two long scales.

This thing is so much fun to play! I'll probably swap out the pups to Vintage 65's or the SD Antiquity II to get more of a vintage sound, but overall I really like it!

Yes, my wife's cats just love my amp lol

Thanks everyone. I honestly wasn't sure how I was going to take to it as I'm used to thinner U shape neck guitars. It was awkward for about an hour, but now it's second nature. I've been playing it so much in the last 24 hours my fingertips hurt. After 45 years of guitar playing, that says a lot! It's a great instrument!

Just traded my 2012 Fender Mustang IV (first version) for a 1990 Fender Power Chorus. I love the "red knob" amps. This one will sit in a stack between my Fender Deluxe 85, and Fender Ultimate Chorus (the Ultimate is not a red knob, but is cool none the less). With my '99 Blues Junior, that makes four 1990's amps for me so far.

I have that very same Mustang IV and for what it is I like it; but, that trade looks to be a great deal White Dog. Congrats! :D

Thanks FSB. Well; according to prices on-line for used Mustang IV vs. Power Chorus...folks are asking more for the Mustang...so "money" wise, I suppose I can say I'm getting the lessor deal. BUT 'hand to hand' I'm actually either breaking even or coming out ahead because of how I ended up with the Mustang IV.
But the money value is not what's important to me on this particular transaction. I HATED the amp, worse than I hated the 12 string guitar I traded for it. When I saw the Power Chorus on Craigslist, and he said "any trades considered", I emailed him with a few pics of the Mustang, I was ecstatic that he answered my email in about 20 minutes time, and the transaction took place the following day.
Apparently he hated the Power Chorus, because he didn't bother to plug in the Mustang and test it out (the trade took place in my Studio), he just took my word for it. I played the hell out of the Power Chorus, testing every button, knob, and feature before I accepted---you'd think he'd wanna do the same.
I'm so, so, SO happy with the trade; I have a soft spot in my heart for the late 80's early 90's Solid State amps.

Cool story. I hear ya, Whitedog.

I think the Mustang IV gave me my money’s worth, but my intermittent problem with the odd preset change volume drop, a minor irritant that can be adjusted hands on, is not worth the effort for repair or for selling. It still has use. It may be a software fault. Can’t say as it’s hard to troubleshoot. The worst scenario would be to dumb it down to be a cab with the decent underrated (certainly not the best, but better than a lot IMHO) twin Celestions; but, that’s unlikely.

I can see another more desirable amp down the road if I outlast this one.
Enjoy yours and rawk on. :D

This Deluxe Nashville Tele has been the biggest surprise in recent memory. The pickups sound good, even though they're billed as noiseless they have plenty of twang and the bridge is bright and loaded with bite. The neck is reasonably fast and thin and the frets are finished quite nicely. I'm really happy with it!
