A Victory Amps V30 Countess with EL34 tubes. About 40 watts, cathode bias, effects loop. It hasn't shipped yet, so it'll be a while before I find out if I win this gamble. It only weighs 18#'s, so I'm hoping this is my new rehearsal / gigging amp.

Just pulled the trigger on an Eventide H9-Max.
It will likely arrive in about a week.
If it works out I'll be able to eliminate about 6 pedals from my board.
If not, I'll take the hit and sell it at a loss.

--------

Drew, be sure to update us with a first impressions review on that Victory.

Matt; I have an H9 Max. There's a pretty steep learning curve, but it does so many effects that it's like keeping an encyclopedia library for when you need it. My best advice is go through all of the Eventide video's on YouTube. They take each function and simplify it. Also, I use an Ipad for editing. It's a lot easier than trying to work just through the pedal.
I'm real interested in how the Victory amp works out also. This is the model that Guthrie Govan gigs with, so it can't be too bad.

I picked up an early '63 Vibroverb Reissue a couple weeks ago. I have a Custom Vibrolux Reverb that was modded to VVRI specs and I love it, so when I saw the VVRI on CL I figured why not have the brownface looks to go with the sound. It came with non-OE mixed speakers so I swapped out the Jensen P10R's out of the CVR. It's my personal holy grail amp!

Swamp Yankee--
Welcome to the 63RIVV Club...they're great, great amps. I've had one for 23+ years, and it's definitely a keeper. Sounds equally good for guitar and harp/harmonica...loud enough to blow everybody's head part, yet sounds good at low volumes...and looks cool! Congratulations on your New Amp Day!

I don't know if it's my computer, but I can't see the image you posted...I'd like to see your amp, could you re-post a picture?

I've tried hosting that pic on 2 different sites and I can't seem to get it to automatically come up (dang computers!!). I've posted a link to a flickr pic of it.

By the way, is that your 1964 Falcon?

My first car was a 2 door hardtop 1964 Falcon Futura...I still have it, but unfortunately, it's not running and is behind my dad's barn, waiting for a cash infusion.

Without having had the time to source out a few additional items needed to fully exploit the Tail Loop Switcher in conjunction with the H9 I have decided in the short term to incorporate the H9 into my old board. I've done a few swap-outs since the last time I showed pics of this board and it now bears little resemblance to those early pix. I played with the H9 quite a bit before deciding to use it officially. To my curious surprise it excels in areas I did not expect it to and yet doesn't quite live up to my expectations in areas where I expected it to really shine. I fully expected it to completely replace my Dimension, Leslie and Tremelo pedals with versions of those same FX that far exceeded them. Such was not the case. However, the OD and Dist FX on the H9 are soooooo to my liking that I have almost completely eliminated my need for additional boxes. The delay FX on the H9 are, naturally , completely beyond reproach and I have eliminated 2 delay pedals from my normal rotation. The TC Flashback and the Moog MF-Delay.

This past week, I added a Mustang III V.2 to my small amp inventory, consisting of two vintage Fender tube amps and a Frontman 25R.

I just got a Celestion FTR184080F 18" speaker to load in my bass cab, to replace the 4 ohm one that's in there, so it's 8 ohms, and I can run both that and my 2x10" cab together.
