True dat!

My Steve Bailey Jazz sounds great through the 20 watt Crate Practice Amp I'm using.

There's something about a Jazz I prefer over a Precision.

It's the neck.
And the growl.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I'm all about the midrange honk of the soloed bridge pickup.

Yeah, maybe I should dust off the Squier Jazz and see how it sounds through the Ampeg. 8)

A conversation elsewhere on these pages got me curious about the little VOX thingies so when I went to get a Cab-Grabber I got a thingie too.
Busy now but will try it out later in the evening.

It sure looks that way. The light changes the appearance of my Black Moto, as yours seem to take on lighting as well.

Heya, Matt. Right now I am doing double duty with a kick drum mic holder for the traps and amp when needed. I knew of the Cab-Grabber, and it looks to be a great solution. I went to YT and there was your thingie. Sounded real good too. IMHO.

I noticed your N3s on your great looking bass. I have N3s on the Strat. I like them, having A/B'd them with the vintage sounds I preferred. Pretty good. Perfect? I think that's always questionable, and some positions don't quite deliver for me, but with an S-1 switch how could I not get 5 positions of enjoyment? The rest are a bonus, and I'm loving the controlled feedback and no hum. Then again I appreciate all the flavours of pups, some less or more than others. I'm happy to have left oh,hum in my High School gym (except for the Taylor). I think those Fender Noiseless would sell even more had they not called them "N" something. Perhaps, " Golden Silence " or " Quiet Knights ".

How are you liking those N3s on the bass? I'm betting they are fine, and have you heard the N4s? I have yet to try them on any axe.

One last thing. Ya gotta stop showing that new gear with the L&M label. I live between two of those stores, both not far away. It's really really hard on me. On the other hand it's great to get your reviews.
Cheers!

I've wanted the Amp Grabber for a long time and they never seem to go on sale and the price just keeps climbing so I figured I should get one before they go up again.
It seemed like every second time I looked at one the price had gone up again and it's been this price for a while now so I thought I'd better act before they jump again.
I have a short little 8" tall mic stand but it's hard to get it into exactly the right position and then it can also become a tripping hazard on a small stage.
Plus it is of no use at all with a tilt-back amp or with a stand.

With a lot of the competition closing doors around here L&M seems to be the only game in town anymore.
Lots of times when a store goes under L&M buys the building and slaps their sign on it and that location just keeps right on going but with a new name.

I have not tried the N4s.
The N3s are fine.
They're quiet and they sound fairly good.
My other bass has VNs and I like them too.
I also have a Strat with VNs and they work fine on that guitar as well.

I'm still experimenting with the VOX thingie but my initial thoughts are that it sounds pretty good.
It seems to go a lot louder than any headphone preamp needs to.
The f/x are kind of useless to me because they are fixed.
There's no adjusting them and they're pretty hot as well.
Nothing subtle about them, which I don't like on time based f/x.
I'm still trying to figure out how to switch channels on it.
I may have to break down and read the instructions.

That's not likely though.
Still haven't touched the book for the Helix even after all this time.

 That’s how it was when I worked in the control rooms. Engineers from the manufacturer would tell us we’d be able to use the gear in about 3 months, but we’d really learn it in over a year. The company complained that they spent bundles of money, and wanted to have it up and running for a return in a month. Others demanded use in a week. We never did get to learn it all in a year, mostly because the encyclopedic manuals were written by engineers rather than operators, and sometimes the translations didn’t work. :P
