Thanks! 8)

As for the strings, they came strung up with these: Image

I'm not sure, but I think that's pretty much the brand I have to use, because the scale is a lot shorter than even a short scale bass typically is. They seem to sound pretty good, and have a good feel to them, so if there isn't a currently available option, they'll do.

Nice standard strings.

OK, I finally was able to plug the Ibanez acoustic bass into the Fender Rumble amp, and everything sounds good. 8) Here's a pic I took of it to post here.

That really is nice. Looks like it's easy to use, and play.

Kit arrived today a few pics...Got to order a few things before getting started, forgot the vinyl sealer...
Guitar weighs in at 7lbs 12ozs. The neck radius is 12", didn't take other measurements. The CNC work looks very good as well as the fretwork, binding and neck/body. Very happy w/ it...

Project threads go over pretty well around here, too.

If it were a Strat or Tele, I wouldn't hesitate to do a full build thread. Since it's an LP, just gonna post a few pics at stages. Out of the box, into/out of the booth, assembled/finished. If there's any questions about the kit, I'd be happy to answer.

Fair enough. Have fun with it, and I'll be looking forward to the pics.

Thanks! 8) It's really easy to play, although more so standing than sitting, but that's just a matter of getting used to the body being acoustic, and placing your hand in comparison to a solid body, or even the violin bass. The neck is a little smaller than the violin bass, since it's essentially a guitar neck, with a 25" scale. It's pretty quick, though. It has some sort of open pore finish on it, which makes it feel like it's not really finished at all. I'm sure there's something on it to protect the wood. I'd have to look at the specs again. It does have a warm tone to it, especially amplified. The strings on it are coated, which I think gives them a smooth feel, and not as much string noise, sliding around.

Nice kit, Eric.
Interesting grain on that top.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Yeah it doesn't photograph very well, other kits come w/ a sealer from some of the other retailers which looks and photos better. Not as much black trail grains from what I can tell but not as many voids/negative space either.

Rotate the photo 90° to the right. Zoom into the bottom half of the body. Can you find 3 faces or are my meds workin’ overtime?
