I'm like Paul. I have 5 of the exact same black leather strap and 1 black and white one and 4 or 5 other black ones that I never use. I need to get some color too!

Thanks, guys! It was only $16, too. I recommend W&W highly, they make fine straps at very reasonable prices. https://walkerandwilliams.com/product-category/woven-straps/hippie-straps/

Pretty cool. 8) What made you decide to dump the Fender? You wanted to match up with your cab?

Pretty slick.
That leaves room for a bowl of jello on a gig.

FYI,
I had an Ampeg PF-500.
It was not reliable.
It broke down on me twice within the initial warranty period so I sold it after the second repair was done under warranty to prevent having to pay for the third one as there were only a few weeks left of warranty.
The second time it failed on me was on stage.

I forget what the problem was with mine but as I recall there were a number of issues with that amp.
I think I'd look into it if I were you, Glenn.

I think they ironed out the issues with that amp a long time, from what I've read. Hopefully, that is the case. It sucks when your gear breaks down, especially during inopportune times.

I can’t count the amount of times we had to explain to managers with the same story over and over that the expensive purchases they made were prone to break down when they were being used. It didn’t help when the audience was in the thousands, and so was the commercial loss.

Of course manufacturers releasing products before they are ready (often to be first amongst others), and, perhaps, giving an incentive to purchase doesn’t help. The “use it now” “worry about it later” or “we’ll fix it if it breaks” approach is all too often the case. But, dang! The lights and features are cool.

Hard to say what is good or bad sometimes. It could be that less is more or, maybe, less really is less.

That’s Showbiz.

The PortaFlex series is relatively inexpensive.
Also very light and cool running due to class D design.
I bought mine for use as a slave amp when I was in a loud and raucous band who were using big stacks and the heaviest handed drummer I've ever played with.
I swear I thought the skins were going to fail with each hit.
My little 240 watt Redhead with two 10s and a horn just couldn't keep up with those guys.
The first time the Ampeg failed was in my home while I was setting up the amp and an extension cab.
I sent it out to have it repaired under warranty.
I got it back just in time to do an outdoor show and was happy it was fixed and had high hopes for it.
Mid-way through the first set the amp quit running again.
Between sets I unplugged the Ampeg and just ran the extension cab from the SWR.
It wasn't as as loud or as dynamic and punchy but at least I could be heard.

I sent it back for repair again under warranty and as soon as I got it back I put it up for sale.

Hopefully Paul is right and Glenn won't have any issues.
I still think Glenn should look into it though.
Just to be safe.

That was a smart move in your case, Matt. It’s always a bummer when those hopes for better are deflated. Timing is everything, and I’ve been burnt by not getting in on warranty in time.

I usually buy what I want the first time, keep it for a long time, and hate when I have to exchange or replace it with something I passed by earlier or if have to make a compromise or find they cheapened out with the new replacing the former.

+1 for Glenn too.

Yeah, I heard of those issues from a while back, and did some checking out on the Portaflex series heads. Ampeg does seem to have rectified the problems. My playing is going to be going through the SVT-410HLF, a 4 ohm, 500 watts. The head should be running smooth in that setup.

I had some issues with a couple of Bassman 500's at one time. Sometimes it takes time to square things up. I do know what you're saying though.
