Today I picked up a really cool bit of gear, not a musical instrument or even musical gear as such but it definitely has a musical connection-or used to.Last night I saw an ad on Kijiji for an overhead projector and almost dumped,I've been looking for one of these rigs for years. For those who weren't around in the British Invasion days, overhead projectors were a classroom necessity for teachers to put up clear plastic transparencies of maps, diagrams etc. It didn't take long for some lighting genius to come up with the idea of using them for light shows. The most famous light show to make use of them was The Joshua Light Show who did most of the light shows at Bill Graham's Fillmore East as a matter of fact they did the lighting for Jimi and The Band of Gypsys for their famous New Year's Eve sixty nine concert, some versions of the Band of Gypsys album have a gatefold foldout photo of Jimi,Billy and Buddy playing in from of a huge backdrop of an image projected by The Joshua Light Show..As soon as I got home I plugged it in,took a clear Pyrex dish, put it on the clear glass table/ lens and filled it with water,I started to squirt in different colours of food colouring, different colour oils etc. and then took a water pistol and sprayed clear water on the surface of the dish of water-the effect was just incredible-instant psychedelia. With the different colours swirling around and blending and seemingly dancing with ripples when the spray hit it,it was real easy to see why people would get freaked out to see this kind of thing at a Hendrix,Pink Floyd,Captain Beefheart,Moby Grape concert. This is a great addition for my music room and I'll be spending a lot of time experimenting with it.BTW:I was lucky enough to get it for less than the cost of a 2 doz. case of beer and I would have paid a couple of hundred.

Okay! Enough of that fool hardiness and Magic Mushrooms guitslinger! Your eyes will be full of lava lamp images if you keep it up, and we wouldn’t want you to trip and fall. Hahaha!

Just kiddin’. I’m old enough to remember when that craziness started, and I agree it was wild. Great find! Congrats! Now get back to groovin’ and floating in your psychedelic journey. Say hi to Austin Powers for us.

I think that will look good. Did you go with pearloid?

I have the Black Moto as a backup, incase I want to use it on the Am. Pro. or for whatever reason I need to use it in place of the Black Moto currently on the USA GL Jazz. I keep a few extra Jazz PG's around. There are two Jazz Tort PG's that I keep also.

The Fender Urban Short Scale Gig Bag came in today for the Mustang PJ. A nice fitting gig bag.

Cool deal. 8) Out of curiosity, not that I need it at the moment, do you think the violin bass would fit in that bag?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

It just might, if the body isn't to thick as compared to the Mustang's. I think the price is pretty good too.
