My latest gear purchase was a 2015 Deluxe Strat Plus with personality cards. It's a great instrument and as versitile as advertised. I look forward to Fender introducing new cards.

How does the Adam Clayton bass compare to the regular Jazz bass?

Hello,
I haven't really compared them head to head. I've wanted a block-neck Jazz forever, and I've been GASing for an American Standard, and I like the overall look of the ACJB. The neck and board are very nice, and the pickups IMO have better definition than those on my Highway 1. Is it worth $400 more than a regular ASJB? Probably not but I like it and I'm gonna keep it. I will restring it with Ken Smith Compressors, though.

AMS has a flash sale going from 11am to 3pm today, so I just order a 25 foot Speakon to 1/4 cable for $10.95. I'd say that was pretty cheap, plus the fact I was planning on getting one of those cables, anyway. 8) I know that's pretty long cable, but for the price, couldn't pass that up. Besides, you never know if something that long could come in handy.

That's a good price on that cord being a Speakon, to 1/4" too.

Congrats. That's nice stuff. I think you'll like the AC Jazz.

Amazingly, it showed up this morning. Talk about fast service! That's what I like about AMS. The shipping was free, too. Maybe they have some sort of Christmas thing going on. Imagine if I had ordered one from Carvin. It probably would have cost $60 and took a year to get here. :P

ImageI'm a big fan of Heritage guitars, and when another enthusiast offered this cool refinished-in-purple H-150 (Les Paul-type), I had to have it. I needed it like another hole in my head, but when does need come into the conversation?! haha

Classic series 70's strat , a week ago . It was a trade in , perfect condition , plays real nice and a bargain too !

The pickups are a little bright , I have ordered a set of custom shop 69 pickups and a white pearloid pickguard.

Love the guitar , but I did buy it to modify and tweak a bit , the goal being to both personalize it and make it sound better.
My favorite color combination right there. Love white on white.
Thought about modifying mine with a "blue" pearloid pick guard (because I saw a pic once of one and thought it looked pretty cool)...but in the end chose to stick with the white on white.
The knobs, pickup covers, and tip switch will age...as well as the body and maple neck...but the white pick guard takes MUCH longer, and actually stands out as a nice bright background/foreground for the rest of the guitar.

Gotta see some pic's once you get the perloid pick guard on it...not sure I have seen that combination yet.

Thank's

The parts are on the way , a pearloid pickguard , a matching cover for the tremolo spring cavity , an All Parts wiring kit and the CS 69 pickups from Fender. The plan is to remove the pickguard with all the electronics intact , set it aside and assemble a new version . I'm keeping the old stuff in case I want to go back some day .
