Just takes me to a Fender main page, Mike.
I'm growing weary of these international website differences.
Sure takes the fun out of sharing cool stuff with the group.
Turns it into a chore.

That's a great gift, nice acoustic

Welcome to the Forums, Jomrey. I’ve had experience with the original B3 and Leslie and I have to say that your Electro-Harmonix B9 Organ machine pedal is a winner. Pretty awesome development considering the early organ transition of electro mechanical tonewheel to integrated circuit clones didn’t really become accepted or developed as equals until about 2002. Now look at it. You have a fine simulator. :D

Still, like many things, the original B series organs rock and you have the advantage of not loading or unloading the heavy one from one place to another. Nice.

Got my Rotosound SM77 flats in the mail today, so I'll be installing them after I get back from my walk and shopping. Technically, I guess you could say was my last gear purchase, albeit not as fancy. :P

Takes me to a lunch box here in Iowa, USA.

My latest purchases are a Fender Distort pedal (to finish out my Fender pedal collection). Have all four now; Drive, Distort, Chorus, and Delay. If you've never seen them, look them up...they are cool looking, and actually work pretty good as the pedals they are intended to be.

And also, an Electro Harmonix 'The Silencer' noise gate pedal. PHENOMENAL little pedal...have patience and dial it in, it will do everything you need it to do. You can put your dirty, noisy pedals in a loop, and your clean quiet pedals straight through on true by-pass. AND eliminate any hiss, hum, or noise from your amp without altering the tone.

Speaking of pedals, the last thing I picked up was a Boss CP-1X Compressor. It's a pricey pedal but totally worth it IMO.

Comparison to the old CS3:

This video does a little trick I have noticed in a number of comparo vids and I seriously wish these demo guys would stop doing it because it's just not helpful for the viewer.
The CP-1X is adjusted to be slightly louder than the CS-3.
We have a natural tendency to prefer the one that is louder.
That said, I saw through the deception immediately because I always watch for it because it is so common.
I like the newer one better despite knowing it was louder and therefore being more critical of it.
It comes closer to rackmount compressor tone.
Lesser compressors will lose certain aspects of tone during the dynamic squish.
Better compressors will keep it all included but after squishing it has the affect of adding girth while removing peaks, which is the intended purpose.

The guy left out an important issue in compression, though.
By only playing clean he bypassed my personal criteria for choosing a compressor, noise.
Some compressors can get really noisy as gain is added to the signal.
This vid is helpful to folks playing spanky country and funk but it is useless to people who play rock and particularly to metal heads.

Electro Harmonix 'The Silencer' noise gate pedal looks to be a great choice in a pedal, White Dog. EH does some pretty good stuff IMHO. This one seems versatile enough to like. As for Fender’s pedals, the history goes on.
The Boss Compressor challenge: I thought they both did pretty good; but, yes I can hear the difference. BMW-KTM made some good points about video comparisons. Although, comparison videos are a huge benefit they don’t make up for hands on real world listening; but, they are better than nothing I suppose, and I know some on the Forums have little choice but to use video demos for a reference. So, for the most part, it’s a good thing.

I really believe it’s a run what ya brung difference that can change the requirement. As BMW-KTM pointed out the style and playing can make a difference, and so too does the gear attached. One size doesn’t fit all.

For me, I find what may sound good in a tube amp may be a little edgy in a solid state. Perhaps, you’ll find a little mellowing of the tone can be a good thing with an amp that is a little harsh. There are plenty of ways to get this without addressing a choice of pedals, but the choice of pedal could come into play in either case. YMMV

I’ve been around audiophile and pro audio for decades and my experience has been that there are times to take the purist approach, and times when it’s not so hot. It’s also difficult to convince an audience. :P
One approach is to start with clean and add some dirt. Sometimes, it’s hard to scrub off the dirt.

Pretty cool. 8) I've always had decent luck with Boss pedals.
