I bought a set of three.
I will try the full set first in my SSS.
If I don't like them I'll put the Fat 50s back in.
If I do like them, I'll try it with the Fat 50 back in the middle position for a more quackier tone in positions 2 & 4.
If that works well then I have a free middle pup I can try in the HSH.

I use the Kinman system on both guitars so once I put the connectors on the leads, swapping is just a matter of plug and play.

That sounds like it could be a really great sounding setup, Matt. Best of luck with it. Please keep us posted. 8)

Fender F-05 Acoustic (1981) I think it was made in Korea. Got it from an old dude that wasn't playing much anymore.

You're welcome. I've been having fun with it. What is kind of cool is that I have my envelope filter before it and the distortion sweeps with the envelope as it goes through the midrange. Really synth like sound.

I just looked them up. Very kewl, phreddybee. Some innovations are just because they can be done; but, knowing Fishman, these look to be a great alternative. Thanks, for your post. Enjoy.

The Fralins arrived today.
They do look a bit different, alright.

I put the quick connect ends on the leads for the Kinman system.

Installed in the guitar.

I just spent 20 minutes with it and I can certainly see why Lindy says this is one of his most popular sets.
You lose a small amount of sparkle and about the same amount of quack but it's a pretty small amount you're losing.
What you gain is girth.
It's not just that they're hotter.
They are in fact a little bit hotter but that's not the thing of it.
They have balls.
Big freakin' cajones.
I've run some pretty hot singles before and this is different because in truth they don't seem very hot.
They're certainly not forcing me to change any adjustments on my rig to compensate for them.

I'm not even going to bother with the Fat 50 middle swap.
I will continue looking for a middle pup for my FrankenStrat but that won't be for a while.
I'm going to be busy exploring this setup.
All three roughly even for height and untouched as yet for pole heights and there's way better balance between strings and between pups.
It's like they don't need a setup.
They'll get one anyway, it just might take me a while to nitpick them.

That was a great documentation on your Fralin project, Matt. I also like the quick connects on the Kinmans. The photos tell the story and I’m sure the Fralins will scream sweet grooves with the Helix.

You may become addicted to your new additions. :D
