Yeah it got put in the mail right before Thanksgiving. I will call the place on Monday to see if they got it. Fortunately, my bank caught it. I am laughing about it though.

One of the things that led me to wanting the Hyperdrive is that I'm looking for a Cello type of tone and in the early version of the manual one of the suggested settings was called "Cello of Fire". With my standard effect array I can get some cool synth and organ types of sounds. I have a tc "Sub N Up" pedal and I think if I dial out the low octave and the dry sound I can get a poor mans Stanley Clarke piccolo bass type of sound. Plus I am getting more into looping and working through a Berklee College of Music Jazz Composition book. So the possibility of imitating other instruments and knowing music as a whole will help me on my goal to be a musician who plays bass as opposed to being just a bass player.

>> Blues Jr. and lineout

Miking maybe better, but I use the lineout on Mustang III all the time and prefer the convenience (and lack of worry about my noisy house!)!

Best!

Thanks, for the update, Rev J,

I’ll make you feel better. Many years ago I had a gas card stolen or found. Long story short, it was used to drive across half the country and back. Midway a rebuilt engine was installed in that someone’s car (probably stolen), and that’s a lot of pancakes! :P
I never got a pedal, but after hootin’ and hollerin’ and tapping my feet, I never got a bill either. I did, however, have trouble for a year using credit of no fault of my own because my name was on a lookout list  Seriously though, I hope you get your loss worked out.

Perhaps, your Ashdown will work out well enough to put the pedal to the metal.

Then there is a situation like this:

The full incident was 15 minutes long. But the story behind it is a couple of years ago at the "Gathering of the Juggalos" a guy showed up fresh out of jail and stole everything that wasn't tied down including someones heart medication, a pregnant womans food, and various peoples clothing. He was caught and before the started in on the car that he drove in they went through and found his release paperwork, jailhouse love letters etc. so they knew they got the right car. Unfortunately the guy stole the car from his friend who bailed him out.

I just pulled the trigger and ordered up a set of these.
I was only reading about them out of curiosity and then I suddenly got hit by GAS.

I finally got the Ashdown pedal. It was easy for me to dial in a really subtle overdrive. One of the cool things about it it is since it only distorts the midrange at around the frequency you set the pedal to below that frequency gets the fuzz on the overtones and gets dirtier the closer you get to that frequency then as you go higher it gets cleaner again the further you get away from that frequency. I set it with a maxed out distortion in the low mids but a relatively dry mix (about 30% distorted to 70% dry). Usually when I try out pedals and sounds I listen to them and let them tell me what to play. The funny thing with this is that it told me to play Reggae. Usually fuzz bass and reggae don't mix unless you are Bill Laswell but this sounded really cool in that context.

That’s a popular GAS to have BMW-KTM. Thanks, for the comprehensive detail provided. Looking forward to your experience with those Fralins. I’m sure the experience will be a good one. :D

I can see why you got hit by GAS. They sound great with that Gibson-like midrange and 50% Single Coil, 50% P-90 Tone! Please let us know what you think about them. I just received my new Fender Frontman but, after hearing the demo of your pups, I'm feeling a touch of GAS returning myself. :D

I bought a set of three.
According to the tracking number, they just left USA bound for Canada.
I initially wanted only a thicker bridge pup for my SSS Strat (Fat 50s).
I was looking at the Tele-style steel plate thing Lindy has and watching the video on how to install it.
The wax potting thing gave me pause.
I've never tried to work on a pickup.
I've always found them to be quite fragile, breaking too easily.
That was when I noticed the Steel Pole jobs .... but then I got thinking.
I also have an HSH Strat (my Partsocaster) with slightly mismatched pups that require a fairly severe height and angle adjustment and still not perfect because the middle isn't very hot in comparison.

I will try the full set first in my SSS.
If I don't like them I'll put the Fat 50s back in.
If I do like them, I'll try it with the Fat 50 back in the middle position for a more quackier tone in positions 2 & 4.
If that works well then I have a free middle pup I can try in the HSH.

I use the Kinman system on both guitars so once I put the connectors on the leads, swapping is just a matter of plug and play.

Hey, Matt. That looks like a plan to me. Interesting project. The Fralin/Kinman comparison will be interesting, but even more so, I think, will be the compatibility of the combo you end up with. Keep us posted, and have fun with your project.

Now can I have your Helix? After all, I’m willing to help out with your advancement in tone.
