Is that the one you did a song recently with on the other thread? If so, that sounds pretty good, and I'd say you'd got your money's worth, and then some, at least. 8)

Yes it is and thanks all!

Actually, that is the lower spec'ed A3M when I actually bought the A9M which is 100% solid (back, sides, everythingj!) They look identical though.

I partially feel bad neglecting my electric guitars... but I'm feeling more like playing acoustics for the time being.

Best!

You never know where the muse will take you, whether it be acoustic or electric.

I accidentally got an Ashdown Bass Drive Plus (long story). Before that it was a tc electronic Vortex Mini Flanger, and a tc HOF2. I've become kind of a fanboy of their pedals. I think my next purchase is going to be an SWR Redhead.

I just bought a little Fender Frontman 10G 10-watt 1x6" Combo Amp and a D'Addario Planet Waves 10' Classic Series Instrument Cable (Right Angle) from Sweetwater. I'm going to put it next to my recliner so I can play every day without having to go upstairs. :D

Hard to go wrong there.
Great amps.

Nice to have an amp that’s easily accessible and easy to move at any time (especially next to a favourite chair). I have the Mustang IV downstairs and would like to, eventually, add a tube amp from a short list of favourites. The Mustang’s weight was a bit of a deciding factor as I can no longer haul the weight I once did; but, even 47 Ibs. can be manageable, yet less desirable up and down a staircase or for a distance. I too recently bought (a six pack) right angle cable (for the first time). I think they’ll work just fine.

So congrats on that little Fender Frontman, Marky.

If that Ashdown sounds as good as it looks, it’s a winner. I agree that TC makes some nice durable pedals. SWR looks to have a lot going for it too.

Keep rockin’ Rev.

I was looking at a Fender Blues Jr III (might be on your list) but my son actually bought my new Frontman for me as an early Christmas present so I had to keep the price down. :D

Actually, the Fender Blues Jr III is a worthy contender. Thanks, for the suggestion, Marky. That was a suggestion from when I got the Strat in 2012. That little amp has a pretty good reputation.

Early green board models are said to have a lot of noise in the reverb while other versions can be bright sounding; however, there are limited varieties that give you a different speaker choice pertaining to each model. The last I looked there is no bias adjustment and a mod is common. Also, I believe there are no lines out (same as the Mustang V1). Do I need those things? Probably not; but, for recording and the mixer they could come in handy. The amp is not something I need to rush into, and hopefully, I’ll stumble into a good deal on, perhaps, a limited version of an amp. Maybe the amp will be that little Fender Blues Junior III. You picked a good one.

Your Fender Frontman - Any time a thoughtful family member donates to your musical mojo is a blessing indeed. Nice Christmas present. Nice son. :D

The short version of the long story is that I ordered an Ashdown LoMenzo Hyperdrive. The shop sent me the Drive Plus instead. It didn't work so I had to send it back and exchange it for the Hyperdrive again. Actually here is a thread from talkbass with the full story:

https://www.talkbass.com/threads/ventin ... e.1313554/

My local shop had the SWR for about $400. You don't see many Redheads on the used market and I suspect that there is a good reason for that. The shop will also let me put it on layaway.

Most of my pedalboard is tc anyway with the exception of a Pigtronix Bass Envelope Phaser (When I took the original velcro off the back I noticed serial number 00009 not bad for $85 used off Reverb), a Boss PQ-3B Bass Parametric Equalizer, and Boss RC 20 looper and soon to be the Ashdown.

C/S,
Rev J

Thanks, for the update, Rev J,

I’ll make you feel better. Many years ago I had a gas card stolen or found. Long story short, it was used to drive across half the country and back. Midway a rebuilt engine was installed in that someone’s car (probably stolen), and that’s a lot of pancakes! :P
I never got a pedal, but after hootin’ and hollerin’ and tapping my feet, I never got a bill either. I did, however, have trouble for a year using credit of no fault of my own because my name was on a lookout list  Seriously though, I hope you get your loss worked out.

FSB

Perhaps, your Ashdown will work out well enough to put the pedal to the metal.
