Post subject: Cathode Bias

What does this mean? An amp that will bias itself if you change tubes, or do I have it wrong?

Pretty much. I don't know how accurate it is but better than fixed bias.

Better luck in the amp section.

Yep the amp section is your best bet for a knowledgeable response, this section is essentially very handy for an armchair "engineers" discussion of magic bullet theories, faked moon landings, and a more general education about how things work, etc.

You always need to check bias the first time you put new tube . Cathode bias resistor may be out of spec or not the best value ( yes direct from the builder) . New tube specs may be not same.

That is what I see few time on cathode bias amps .
