Angus Young- Lead guitar ( I'm dead serious about this. There's a clip on You Tube of him and his brother Malcolm jamming on stage with the Stones doing some blues and Angus has it ! )

It is interesting that you feel the need to defend your choice of Angus. AC/DC is admittedly very limited in key and time signature selections, along with their lyrical themes (their lyrics were far more thoughtful when Bon was there) ... but Angus is a fabulous lead player. It is almost, though, that you feel many people don't think this about Angus. To me, it is Malcolm's playing that is up to be defended. Malcolm is considered a great rhythm guitarist by some, but (personally) I question this considering how ultra-simple AC/DC's music is. is. I am not criticizing anyone's post ... I just thought that was interesting ...

No offense but, I didn't feel that I was defending him at all. I just wanted to point out that he is really good at playing the blues. In case you didn't know, his influences are Chuck Berry , Muddy Waters, etc. Malcolm , before he was diagnosed with alzheimers , was one of the best rhythm guitarists in the business . It's a shame what happened to him but his nephew Stevie is from what I hear, is doing a amazing job . You may not like AC/DC's music , but it made them a lot of $$$$ and you can't argue with that. Personally I prefer the classic lineup with their late singer, the great , Bon Scott. That to me, was when they were in their prime and had a lot of energy.

I am not sure why you are assuming I don't like AC/DC when I agreed that Angus is a great lead player. I am a fan from wayyyy back ... I remember going to the record store (remember those?) on the day that Bon-Scott-era AC/DC albums would be released. Dude, I was into AC/DC before AC/DC was into AC/DC (back when the mass populace never heard of them). But even though I am a fan, I am not going to think that their music is not simplistic. The one thing it sounds like we do disagree on is Malcolm ... There is a lot of people that could do what he does as a player. I would never come close to a "best in the business" rhythm guitarist tag on him. Save that for Alex Lifeson...

My R&B/Funk show band:

Eric Burdon

Backup Vox -
Mavis Staples
The Temptations

Percussion - Clyde Stubblefield

Lead - Prince

Rhythm Guitar - Nile Rodgers

Lots of talent here for a variety of vocal arrangements. Ticket prices would be restrictive though.
