Sounds so ordinary, but a good strap is a "must have" when playing live... Tell us/Show us your favorite strap! I'm kinda in the market for one, so I'm curious!

I don't play live but I use Fender Monograms color-matched to each guitar. They're comfortable and inexpensive.

I have two of these, one on my Schecter Jazz and the other on my Squier Jazz Image by Planet Waves. They're wide and take some breaking in, but once they do, they do live up to the name, especially with a heavy bass like the Schecter. I'd like to get some more for the rest of the instruments I have down the road, so I can just keep them on all of them without changing out. They're not expensive, but I haven't had the extra funds to do that now.

I use Italia Leather Straps, arguably one of the finest straps available.

Hand-made to order from premium Italian leather & Suede, these have a true Lifetime Guarantee.

They're spendy, but if you sign-up for their newsletter, they often run specials such as 2-for-1, or less.

I got 4 straps on a 2-for-1 deal, kept 3 and gave one as a present. My friend really loves it and thinks I paid a lot more than I did.

My avg. price is $30/strap which is a steal for straps of this quality.

cheers!

My favorite ones are a super-soft Fender twill strap, and a sheepskin strap. Both 2", and soft enough to mold to my shoulder, and not the other way around.

Why don't anyone make guitar straps like modern backpack straps, with thick padding and a sensible shortening mechanism? There are straps with loose pads, but those slide. And strap manufacturers go out of their way to make the length adjustment as cumbersome as possible.

+1 in both.
(The monogram fits better in my axe case while Levy's is wider, thicker, comfy for me, great quality, but it's reasonable cost is more. For my acoustic 12 string I had a 60s no name blue and grey braided rope strap which still looks and feels pretty good. Don't ask me what I think of the strap that was included with the Amn Dlx Strat, though. It's collecting dust. YMMV).

My favourite is one I modified.
Take a plain old 2" wide black nylon Planet Waves locking strap ...

... because I like the simplicity of the locking mechanism and ease of length adjustment.

But that's not cool enough, so go to Walmart (or wherever) and buy a short roll of 1.5" wide leopard skin pattern grosgrain ribbon, much like this...
Image
Sew some onto the strap, with your trusty sewing machine. Straight stitch along the sides, and zig-zag the ends.
Et voila! The perfect strap for a Surf Green Jaguar.

I have four or five of these:

Super comfy and surprisingly good quality for the price. Combined with Schaller locking pins so the guitar doesn't fall off.

Fender sells a cloth strap that made from the same material as their amp vintage amp and case covers. They are very comfortable.

My favorite is the Levy Suede straps. Comfortable and about a half inch wider than the standard Fender Monogram ones.

Bought one of these today for my P-Bass...

I love their cotton webbing straps... very comfortable, but durable and does not slip. This one is wider than a standard strap.
