Just curious if any of you have tried these tuners... pretty sweet!

I've seen it marketed as the only polyphonic clip-on guitar tuner, but that doesn't seem to be entirely true. The more affordable Cherub WST-930 came out earlier, during Winter NAMM, and does strum tuning too.

I haven't seen any comparisons of the two.
Anyhow, rumors are that there's a clip-on version of the Korg Pitchblack coming out soon too. Choice is good.

I'm not sure these are the same thing. Very limited info out there about the Cherub tuner. Looks like the Snark version of the Polytune.

I now have a Polytune clip, and have been astonished at how quickly it registers a note, and how accurately it tunes a string, particularly so in it's Strobe mode. I wish they were a bit cheaper, but the build quality, and the technology packed into such a small space is simply amazing. I have both the Clip and the Polytune 2 floor pedal. Both are the best tuners I've ever owned.

Lenny1716 stated a Polytune Clip Tuner topic, on July 20th. I bought one on August, 17th. It's great. More replies on the other topic also. It's a decent Clip On Tuner. I'm using the Polytune 2 Mini (floor tuner), also.

I recently purchased the the TC Polytune Clip-On and I'm very happy with it, very nice product. Here's my initial thoughts on it from another post.

Sweet and very high marks for cool.

I'm curious as to how many guitarists use the one-strum-to-tune-them-all feature. I used to have a PolyTune pedal with this capability but even after it showed all strings in tune I still had to check one by one. I guess old habits die hard. And on the subject of old habits, how many of you remember using one of these and being happy?

Hey, I still use a tuning fork at times! They have a big advantage, especially for acoustics, in that they never run out of batteries.
I also carry a slipstick with me at all times, for much the same reason.

Also the sunlight is never too bright nor is it ever too dark for a tuning fork to work.

As for the "slipstick", back in my day it had been replaced by the electronic calculator but I had this really old school physics teacher who made us use slide rules. I really wish I had paid more attention because it would now be a cool skill to have. With the exception of the old timers at NASA, does anyone still know how to use one?

As for tuning, the most important tool used to be the ears. For some of us it still is. For many - especially those of the electronics generation - it's the eyes and the blinking lights.

Cheers!

Guitarists should be the first to know. Two guitar necks of the same scale length can be used for calculations.

I've toyed with the idea of making a slipstick with two guitar necks printed on two of the adjacent scales, usable to calculate harmonics. 3rd fret and 5th fret gives 9th fret. I could call it a slide guitar rule?

I can't see paying 50 bucks for a headstock tuner . Besides , I already have a Fender and a Epiphone which came with my DR-100 package. Both of them work fine .

It is worth every penny, IMO. I have a couple of Snark tuners (which are okay, but look like something from a middle school band hall), and a couple of off-brand clip on tuners that I got for free. The polytune is far and away superior, especially in strobe mode. Plus, it's made very well, and looks much more professional on my Taylor acoustic than a Snark.

They may very well be the best of the clip-ons. Great for acoustics, but for electrics, I'd much rather have a floor pedal. I have a Boss TU-3, and the tuner in my ZOOM B3 is crazy good too. Tuning an electric bass guitar is far more demanding. Especially when setting intonation.

I agree... for my bass and electric, I have the Polytune 2 pedal that I use most of the time. However, I use this with my Taylor a lot, and with my bass when I'm doing a re-string. Works well for that.
