A pretty fine job!

Did you record the guitar straight into a mixing console or mic an amp?

Rawk on!

Cudos on the effort. I'm of the opinion that SRV has pretty much clouded our collective memories in that his cover tends to have us fail to appreciate the first 'Voodoo Child' [ which I prefer]. It is a completely different composition both in music and lyrics. Clapton and Winwood did a version of it on their tour together which was priceless. Winwood played on the original Hendrix session for that work. No one ever seems to approach that work. It's always the second composition which gets the favor

I like it.

I especially like that you did your own thing with it, instead of trying to recreate a note-for-note event...

I liked your "Wonderwall" performance, too...

I think I take my influence from the "live alive" version of the song the most. I like Hendrix's original but I feel like its a bit too short. SRVs studio version is good, but not quite as good as Hendrix's original. The SRV live version just seems to have a lot of power too it, and although he was pretty messed up at the time, SRV owns it on the version.

If I had Steve Winwood's or Paul Rodger's vocal chops I'd give the original a go. But No!! :(
I'm committed to Johnny Cash' range. Can't understand why contemporary rock vocals have to be a screaming tenor's bailiwick. Bummer!

Hey Kid, That was awesome. One of my favorite live Hendrix songs. Keep at it, you're sounding good. Image

Really enjoyed that SK. I'll trade you my pop voice for your gritty rock chops. :) Good use of the talk box, and your playing skills. Good tone, and you know how to and when to and when not to highlite your instruments. Nice work.

By the way, I listened to your Voodoo Child while my football team did some voodoo on the other team (31 -0 at the half). Having worked on pro game media, I gotta say your song, as Arjay put it, rawks. Lookin' forward to more.
