Yeah, other than the Precision and the Ibanez (which needs new strings, besides the jack needing to be fixed,) I have flats on everything, bass-wise. I have Ernie Ball Slinkys on the guitars, because they had a 3-pack special for those at AMS, and coincidentally, I happen to have 3 guitars. That worked out nicely.

Lately I've been having a contest between the acoustic and the Strat. No contest. The Strat wins hands down. :P

One of the greatest moments (at least to me) in rock was done with a Strat, which so happens to occurred down the road from me. That's what Bob Dylan was using when he went electric. When they were booing and complaining about it, he just told the band to play louder. Now, I got GAS for a Strat. See how that happens? :P

That's just plain weird, Paul. In the 60s I was into Folk for a time. I even failed at using a harp harness because of Dylan. No biggie. I did okay, but there's only one Dylan. I looked cool though. 8)
Bob's original song book sits on my music stand. Next to that is a Strat.
The poet laureate will get you every time. Watch out, Paul. I see a Strat in your future.

With a Tele, or a Strat you can't go wrong.

+1 on that Mr. Nylon. Leo did done good when he made those, and the basses speak for themselves. Hundreds and, perhaps, thousands of songs prove it.

The funny thing is I always thought of a Strat as a lead guitarist's instrument, but because of things like Bob Dylan, it doesn't have to be just for that purpose. It's actually a versatile instrument, although I don't know how much use I'd get with the vibrato arm, since David Gilmour I'm not. :P

More like how much you won't use it, Paul (moderation is best though). It'll grow on ya. After all, it's a Strat and Leo designed it that way.

Your being a Hank Marvin or Jeff Beck or . . . ain't to bad either. I know what you mean though. My acoustic doesn't make me Glen Campbell, Leo Kottke, Feliciano, or Carlos Montoya. :P
Being yourself is pretty cool too. 8)

Yeah, I know what you mean. Bass is my main forte, anyhow. The guitar is more like a side thing, which even though I've been technically playing as long as I have bass, I didn't really put much time into like I did bass. I guess I've had friends that played the guitar already, so there wasn't much need to. Not until I started doing my own recordings on 4-tracks and all of that stuff back in the day to fill out the sound on them.

Yeah,........ And the Master, " James Marshall Hendrix", did well with a Strat, but also roared with a Gibson, SG Std. Jimmy Page stated out early on in Led Zeppelin with a Tele, before a Les Paul.

Jimmy Page used a Strat, too. I think it was more so in the late 70's, though. It was a Lake Placid Blue finished one.

The neck from the Dragon Tele was put on the one he used in The Firm.

Here's the story from him: “I still have it (referring to the Dragon Tele), but it’s a tragic story. I went on tour with the ’59 Les Paul that I bought from Joe Walsh, and when I got back, a friend of mine had kindly painted over my paint job. He said, ‘Ive got a present for you.’ He thought he had done me a real favor. As you can guess, I wasn’t real happy about that. His paint job totally screwed up the sound and the wiring, so only the neck pickup worked. I salvaged the neck and put it on my brown Tele string bender that I used in the Firm. As for the body… it will never be seen again! (laughs)”

I'm back to a Sea Foam Pearl, Special Edition Deluxe PJ Precision again. I wanted to get a Maple bass, and I ran across this one for a decent price.

Reminds me of ZZ Doc's '58 Strat refinish job swapped for an unauthorized newer '64 dilemma.
