Like I said, I've been digging the neck on the Squier Jazz in a serious fashion. I was playing it again this morning and I really noticed a difference with my playing with it. I'm a lot quicker on it than my Schecter. That neck is really working for me. It might be time for a bass overhaul.

Not a bad idea about the bass overhaul.

I'll have to see how that plays out, though. It hasn't been the easiest thing to sell gear around these parts.

Yeah, some areas are different for sure on that for gear.

They told me in about a week, more USA GL Jazzes should be in stock.

So you definitely sure you want to get that one? You were mentioning a fretless on another thread.

No, the USA GL Jazz is still on order. I tried a friend's fretless this morning. No go on the fretless.

It looks like I'll be hanging on to the Schecter, too. My girlfriend thought it would be a bad idea, since it's the one bass we have that's been solid, without any issues (after all, I did have to work on the Squier to get it in shape, and it needs other repair work, anyway) and I have to agree. Fenders are a crap shoot (especially, the Squiers) with quality control, I think from my experience, unless you get into the Japanese or USA made ones, which you have to pay a lot for. I'd be lucky if I didn't have to do some work on them, usually with the fret ends. Oddly enough, I've never had to do that with the Schecter, and the more I think about it, there was a reason I went with that brand in the first place. Sure the neck is wider, but it's not unplayable, and the action is spot on. I have a feeling I'll regret it down the road, since I've made that mistake too many times before. They don't make them anymore, too. I can't buy a new one, so that's it for that, unless I could find a used one, which might not be available. So, GAS diverted for now. :P

I played the Standard Jazz today, and that's one swift playing Jazz. I highly recommend them. Road Rex Approved.

I have to say that it looks just as good as the US one you had. Visually, they look the same. You know, because I decided not to dump my Schecter, I'm still digging my Squier a lot. I just have to get it fixed to be able to use it through my amp and not short out. I'm not going to sell anything to get another one, that's all.

I'm liking the Standard enough overall, to drop the USA GL Jazz in favor of the Am. Pro Fretless Jazz I have being shipped today for a Wed. delivery. I just can't see having two of the basically same basses anymore. I do like this Standard more than some previous Am. Std. Jazzes. The board, and the dressing of the frets on this Standard feel so nice to play on. I don't miss the rounded edges of the board that the Am. Std.'s had.

That's good to know there's a decent fret job on it. It does make sense to go with another model, since you like this one enough.

Wed. is the delivery day for the Fretless. It should be ok with the new style pups, over the CS60's that the Am. Std.'s had. Nylons are going on, and the PG is a goner the first thing. Black, or Black Moto PG Yep!

My Standard Jazz didn't, but the Am. Pro. does. It has a real bone nut on it also.
