You ever try nylon strings from other companies besides D'Addario?

Yep. I used La Bella Nylons on a couple of Hofners. They played well.

I've seen them in different colors, too.

I never checked out the other colored strings, I just used the Black Nylons.

I think it was La Bella that does that.

La Bella, and maybe another string maker.

I noticed La Bella has all kinds of flavors there for strings, even specialty sets for certain basses, even flats for Fender Bass VI's. Not cheap, but they make them.

Like La Bella's Beatle Bass series strings. Made to fit Hofner's size PITA tuner pegs.

Yeah, I've heard about that. How was the bridge on that? Is like the one on mine, where you have to try to set the strings underneath it and hope they stay put?

The Hofner was ok. It strung easy enough.

I was almost able to get a Jazz in place to not hurt my right side to play today. It's still a bit too much lifting the right arm, and hold in place to play. I guess I'll try again in a day or two. At least I got the Spl. Edition out of it's case for a while. I'm really liking this bass.

Loving that look, Glenn. It's special for sure. Take it easy on yourself 'cause the bass will still be there when you're ready. Until then make it jello time. :D

I do like the White Opal, it's a very smooth playing Bass. It's good to air out the Bass, and the inside of it's case as well. When I do feel more up to it, this bass,"Stardust", and I are going to talk. Yes thank you, it's Jello time.

I like the finish on that one. I take it the pick guard isn't original, is it?

That sounds interesting. Do you have any pics of it?
