I've always liked them.

It's a very basic guitar. And like many very basic things, it's superb because of that. Perfection is reached not when there's nothing more to add, but when there's nothing more to take away.

Because of this, the Fender Telecaster and Gibson SG will always be two of my favourites. Both have been called "a plank with strings", but that's very well made planks with strings.

Bravo Sir. The two guitars that were played by a lot of the guitar players I played bass for in the 60's. Great tones that held their own.

I'm going to be playing again, so it's a three way tie on which of the Jazzes to play. Right now in my head, the Am. Std. Jazz may be the one.

That's good that you're able to play, no matter what bass you're going to use. 8)

Thanks Paul. I'm giving myself until Monday when I get the "Electric Lady" out of her case, for the first time in over a month. I'm more than glad to have the three particular Jazzes to choose from.

Yeah, and at least they all are in working order, unlike half the crap I have. I'm hoping to get that resolved some day, but $$$.

Those funny little things, called dollars do seem to get in the way of doing what we'd like to do at times.

Guess what? I got some good news about those basses that need work. Our new drummer said he can repair electronics and things like that and offered to fix them for us to help us out. That's a great help, indeed! If anything, I might have to have the Peavey looked at by a guitar repair/luthier to figure out/fix that A string buzz. At least I won't have to spend money on repairing the other basses. I'm hoping that the truss rod isn't broken or something serious like that. I wouldn't know what to do, then. That bass sounds pretty good, sans the issue, so that would suck.

Excellent news. You should be sitting pretty with your basses back to full playing capabilities again. That's great! Image

Yeah, then I can switch them up a bit for whatever means. I also need to get a set of strings for the Ibanez bass. I'm thinking rounds on that one. I should have one bass with rounds, at least.

Use what ever strings you like, they don't have to be rounds.

True. Sometimes, I do like that attack you can get with rounds, so I'm not sure about that yet. There's a good compromise with pressurewound strings, which are smoother on the fingers.

Nylons, or Flats work fine for me.

You ever try nylon strings from other companies besides D'Addario?
