Put some time in on the Squier Jazz again. I guess I've been going back and forth between that one and the violin bass. I did actually pick up my Squier Telecaster Custom the other day. That's something I haven't done too much in the past year or so.

I finally got around to playing the White Opal Jazz through Fender / Ampeg today. No complaints here with any of the Jazzes.
So, how was the Squier Telecaster Custom playing? Better than you remembered? I always like a Tele shaped design. What strings do you have on the Tele?

It plays pretty good. Probably better than I can play the thing. :P I just haven't put a lot of time on it in the past couple of years, but it's there when I need it. I have Ernie Ball Slinky strings .10's.

Your Tele sounds like a nice setup.

Yeah, I didn't even have to adjust anything on it, like the action, or have to file down any fret ends poking out. It has a humbucker for the bridge pickup, which is cool, but I think I'd like a P-90 instead. They have more of a mid range bite to them that I like for guitar.

That's true. I do like the humbuckers (I'm assuming that's what's on there) on the hollow body bass.

Humbuckings are pretty much the staple, or standard pups on Violin Basses.

Yeah, they've never really deviated from the original Hofner design which most likely they all copied from, because that bass was made famous by that one dude in some band that was out back in the day. :P I think I've heard of them, didn't you? :P

There was a guy that played guitar, and then changed over to bass. And the guy got a violin bass. He was a southpaw too. Yep.

I do believe there was a lot of screaming involved. That's why it's important to have good amplification. :P

That had to be Bob Dylan, or Peter, Paul, and Mary then.
