Got tired of the fretless, or did you miss those fancy block inlays? :P

I missed the fancy block inlays. I wasn't playing the Fretless enough, and the USA GL Jazzes I do play a lot. So,...... why hang on to The Fretless I'm not playing.

That does make sense. Why hang onto something you're not playing. How do you do that, when you make these payments on this stuff? They just let you exchange basses out like that?

Some I do returns on, and some I sell.

In a way, it's kind of a like leasing them instead of buying them outright.

Talking about a bass to go back to, The Mustang PJ is a tough one to not play.

I imagine the neck on it is quite fast, considering it's a short scale.

Yes it is. A very smooth, quick player. But so is this in a long scale. I'm hanging on to it. The Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision is going. I may not be able to replace this one.

You're getting the fretless back?

I never did anything with it. I was going to, then decided to hang on to it. The Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision went back this morning. The Fretless is the one to hang on to.

Oh, I thought you dumped it to get the Geddy Lee for some reason.

I hadn't quite got that far on the Fretless. I was close to moving the Fretless, then took a closer look at playing time between the two. The Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision was actually the less played between the two basses. And,..... I just like the Fretless more. The Am. Std. is basically phased out, if not really phased out.

I would have kept the fretless if I had to move a bass, too. Makes sense because it's a totally different sound and you do have a P and J pickup configuration with the Mustang, albeit a short scale variant. Of course, you have two signature series Jazz Basses, by two different artists now. So if you have to move another bass, I suspect it would probably be the Adam Clayton next. It would be redundant when you get the Geddy Lee. Although, it does have a rosewood fretboard and the Geddy Lee has maple, so I suppose there is a difference in tones there.

That's about right, the Adam Clayton went this morning. The USA Geddy Lee is sweet.
